This little blue egg was found alond the roadside, but know one know how valuble she would be.....
One morning a wolf was walking along a roadside. She stopped to breathe in the cool mountain air. What a day she thought to herself. As she was looking a the cloudless blue sky she tumbled over a small blue stone on the side of the road. "Oh crap," she muttered to herself. But as she bent to look over the stone her nose brushed up againt it. She gasped, what she thought had been a stone was know glowing. She could see a little baby, something inside. She looked around to see if any other wolf had seen her. Nobody was there so she scooped the egg into her satchel and ran home.
Home Again, Home Again
When the she wolf got home she put the egg in a drawer and promptly forgot about it. When she was just about to make lunch a tiny voice spoke in her mind, "Good afternoon." She gasped "Who are you?" she asked allowed. "I am the egg you found, I chose my owner very carefully. You are the one." "But how did you know it was me?" she asked, astounded. "I have my ways." the egg answered, "But tell me a bit about yourself." The she wolf swallowed, "Ok, I am a 16-year-old wolf. I am all black but have red paws and a red tail tip. My eyes are bllue like your egg. Oh, and my name is Ruby." Ruby let out a deep breath she didn't know she was keeping, "Now that I told you everything you tell me!" Ruby could hear the egg grumble but finally start to talk, "I was born in a lab, my mother was a good mother but she was a test subject for my species. When we were about to be born my mother begged with her owner to let her have her eggs in the wild. The owner finally agreed and led her out to a small cave. There she gave birth to all of us. ME and my two brothers. Suddenly a monsoon swept through the town. My mother small cave was flooded. She managed to hold onto me but my brothers floated away. As she was swept by the current she wispered this story into my egg telling me that my brothers had the rest of the story,befroe she was captured. She told me that if they survived then look for people who told more of her story. She hugged me one last time and released me into the waves." the egg was silent for seversl heartbeats. "Oh, wow." Ruby said, "Wow."
The theif in the night
Soon months past between Ruby and the egg. The bond grew so strong that sometines that they could feel each others emotions. But word got around that Ruby had preacious jewels in her house. That's why she spent so much time shut in her house. One night a very good theif snuck into Ruby's house. The theif slowly opened her desk drawer to find not jewels but an egg. It was sparkly like a jewel so the theif put it in his back and snock out the window.
The Next Morning
The next mornig ruby woke up to find her window open and her desk open. She quickly shut the window and rushed to her desk. The egg was gone. Ruby tore her house apart looking for the egg and calling to it in her mind but there was no reponse. Finally Ruby had to accept that the egg was not there. Slowly Ruby packed her bag, the egg must have hatched in the night, because nobody knew about it to steal it! Ruby vowed she would find the egg, or hathcling, back. On her journey she waould find someone with the other halfof the story, for her egg, she had too.






Cliffhanger! I hate them yet I write with them all the time. I am so gald I found this contest, with only 7 days to spare!
