"So... Now what?" Sunflight asked with a bit of cautious curiosity.
Daisystep considered this for a moment, also noting that it was surprisingly easy to think of Dusty by her new name. Of course, they'd only just met yesterday and the brown tabby's old name was practically as new to Daisystep as her new, clan name. So perhaps that was an irrelevant fact.
She shook out her fur, shedding the thoughts and turning instead to deciding what their next step should be. She listened, but the voices remained quiet and peaceful, almost contented, this morning. She was incredibly grateful for that, even if it meant stepping out in the dark of this new goal on her own.
"Well," she finally said slowly, after considering it all a moment more, "I'm not even really sure what all this territory holds so... Would you be willing to explore with me..? We could maybe even decide where the boundaries are."
Sunflight brightened.
"That sounds great, Daisystep," the younger cat says with a bit of a purr of amusement in her tone as she uses the new name, "I've done a little exploring of this place on my way here and I'm glad to find out more about it. Want to check out the forest on the other side of the clearing? It seems a bit thicker over there, might find good places for hunting later after we've looked around a bit."
Daisystep was very pleased with this initiative and eager curiosity. It mirrored her own, her paws prickling with anticipation of what they might find together.
"Sounds good." she agrees easily, already turning in that direction, "Let's go."
And so she led the way off in the strong, early morning sunlight of green-leaf, eager to begin this first patrol of her new clan.

The forest greeted them with dappled sunlight and birdsong
as they padded into the undergrowth beyond the clearing.
Though the patrol was calm and the scents of other clans
distant, Daisystep found her paws growing heavy as the
terrain became uneven. A persistent thorn snagged in her
thoughts as much as her fur. Sunflight, too, seemed
uncharacteristically quiet, her usual energy dulled by
the effort of pushing through thick brambles and over
mossy roots. Still, they pressed on, weaving their scent
into the borders with quiet determination.

Just as they turned to head back, a sudden rustle drew
their attention. Daisystep pounced and, with a flick of her
claws, emerged with a plump thrush in her jaws.
The success brought a renewed lightness to her step.
Not long after, a soft voice called out from the shadows.
A cat they hadn’t seen before stood nearby, hesitant but
hopeful, asking if they might walk with them. With a
glance between them, Daisystep gave a small nod.
Perhaps their clan would have one more set of paws
before the sun set.

I have one question to make sure I'm understanding the results correctly: it says under 'Total Results' that I got 4 XP thanks to my word count bonus, but under 'Final XP' it says I have only 3. Is that a typo or should I only record my clan as having 3 XP? - answered! ^^

The beginning streaks of the early dawn sun touched Starlit Rose's (Rose's) face. Her eyes slowly flicked open and she lifts her head to glance out from her small leader den towards the outside, the morning mist hanging gently over the camp. She didn't know why, but a small smile quirked on her face perhaps it was the peace and quietness that brought a small stirring of joy in her heart.

Despite not being born in Dewclan, Rose feels as though she has lived here her whole life.

She gives a small sigh at a certain memory and shakes her head.

Perhaps that's the way it always should've been.

Rose does a big stretch and pads out of the den, greeting her Watcher as she did so. Bless her Watcher's heart, sleeping out in the open each night to protect her and the clan as a whole.

She knew what it was like, since she was once a Watcher herself before somehow becoming the leader of the clan.

It all felt like a blur, that transition to being chosen to be next in line to be leader...

She couldn't believe it, she hardly still does, even though that all happened moons ago.

Rose told her Watcher that she would patrol alone today.

She had a good feeling about it. Something in the air beckoned her to explore in the stillness of solitude, and she knew Dewclan territory perhaps better than even some of the elders. She had no fear, just a ripple of excitement and anxiousness over what she would discover, even if it was just an elegant bird in a tree or a squirrel hopping across the treetops that would become dinner another day.

And so she set off, away from camp, beginning her patrol throughout their territory within Misty Valley. She reckoned she would go through the Eastern Grounds first.

It was slightly more craggy than the rest of the territory, but that's part of what made it more fun, and it was the largest part of Dewclan's territory anyway. Best prioritize checking out the biggest piece of land first.
