First of all, these guys are absolutely adorable. I never thought I would see a 'cute' dragon again besides Toothless, but here are like 50 of them. :D Oh yes, and here is my question. Would we be allowed to post our art entries in out deviantArt accounts if we credited you for the species and possibly linked back to this thread? Thanks.

20RAL1A wrote:Dear Hiccup, no offense, but it seems a little unfair to me that nearly every guest artist asks to have you draw a pic, because some people don't have a pad and I have one but I can't draw very well. I want it to go back to the old judging where you guessed the number and it was just a matter of luck.

Someone already said something along the lines of this, I took pity and made it so that you can either draw a picture or write a story to have a chance at winning. And I don't think the art has to be digital, what's wrong with drawing a picture out traditionally? Anyways, if you don't want to draw, you can check out #59. Also, I think that a lot of Guest Artists make it so art is needed because maybe they want to make sure that the JBD goes to someone who seriously wants it, and actually puts effort into getting it. I know that I wouldn't want the one I designed going to someone out of luck, someone who might not even do anything with it.

As far as art in contests goes, I agree with Bleeding Mercury. Someone who really wants the JBD will probably be willing to do art for it. :3
And I believe that most of the contest holders judge art by effort, not skill. So no matter how terrible an artist you think you are, you probably have more of a chance than you think you do c:

I really don't mean to mini mod, but I don't think that customs are accepted at the moment. I believe guest artists are allowed to make themselves one JBD, as long as it follows the coloration rules...so maybe when GA slots open again you can try out? But, I don't know for sure...so someone please correct anything I oops'ed on...
