For the sake of timing, I am going to approve all breedings and begin on them right away cx Yay!
Here are the current updates to breeding in addition to the more recent ones, since we have just a little bit more to get worked out before it's running as smoothly as I'd like it to be ^^
1) You can now choose between multiple tries in a single breeding form and repeated tries over time, if that makes any sense. Here's how it will work:
Each new breeding form brings with it an initial 100c vet fee. Each try also costs 100c. So if you choose to try 3 times in one form, your total vet fee will be 400c, and if you choose to try 5 times in one form, your total vet fee will be 600c, etc. However, if you choose to try multiple times in one form, you will not be refunded for any portion of the vet bill, even if the breeding takes on the first try. Conversely, if you choose to do one try per form, you will be charged 200c each time you submit the form but will not have to pay for any more breeding attempts once it is successful, as you will know immediately whether or not that breeding took. It's up to you to decide whether or not you want to take it one try at a time or all at once, so just make that decision based on convenience, your mare's BSR, and financial strategy ^^
2) Breeding status is now required to be specified as either public, private, or closed. Public breeding means that anyone can breed with your horse so long as they pay the stud or breeding fee and it does not require permission from the horse's owner, as all permission is implicit. Such permission cannot be retracted after the form is posted. This is a good choice for a horse that is a part of a popular breeding farm or that has a lot to contribute to the development of any given breed or whose owner doesn't mind if that horse is used frequently for breedings etc. Private breeding means that in order to breed with your horse, an interested party must first contact you and make sure you are okay with the breeding before they can post the form. This is a good option for those who want to use their horse to specifically aid one particular group of horses (breed, discipline, color, etc.) or who have high standards for foals produced out of their horses' bloodlines. Closed breeding means that only the horse's owner can use that horse in a breeding; the horse is not open for use by other members unless the horse's owner makes an exception. This is a good choice for a horse that is being used in a very specific breeding program or for a breeder who wants to create a quality line of horses and set the value of their horses' offspring rather than having to simply add up the worth of their two breeding fees plus the cost of vet fees. Please take your time in deciding, but whenever you do make a decision, please go ahead and let me know! There will be a separate location for it on forms in the future.
3) The RVEC advertising thread is going to be up and active soon enough, so get ready to get some real commerce going! I'll try to have that all ready within a couple of days, so if you're wanting to promote something RVEC-related of yours, from studs and leases to registries and organizations, feel free to go ahead and get your ads ready c:
That should be it for now! Thanks for reading!
