To adopt a Kalon simply click on one of the adoptables on the front page and see if the competition is open. In the main post there will be details about the contest and how to win. Each contest is different and each artist will judge based on different things, which will usually be detailed in the contest guidelines. Most contests involve filling out a form and with the form with the best idea, art, or writing is picked as the winner. It all depends on the specific adopt! If you're unsure of what to do with your forms, you can take a look at some finished competitions and see what the winning forms look like to get ideas.

Runner Ups (RUs) are sometimes awarded, as well as Honorable Mentions (HMs) which can be collected and redeemed for custom adopts. In the main post of this thread, under the header image, there is a directory of links to the various Kalon threads such as the Fanclub, Nursery, and Customs thread. I suggest taking a look at the Fanclub to see what everyone is up to! I hope you find something you like and I wish you luck in winning an adopt. You are always free to message myself or another member of staff with any questions you may have. c:

heya! I was wondering, there is a re-adopting for a kal and the user hasn't judged it. It finished in april and they are hardly online! is there anything you can do? like can you judge it for them or do we wait? i've tried pming them with no such luck!

Kalon staff may only step in to judge readoptions if we have given the host 3-4 reminders without any response.

Hey guys !!
So I'm here with a fairly important announcement, please be sure to read over everything in this post as it will explain in detail what is going on and what you can expect in the coming weeks c:

Kalons will be going on a month long semi-hiatus. From June 15th to July 15th activity in main adopts and the nursery will be slowed. As this is a semi-hiatus that means some artists will still be taking on new design work, however it will not be at the current velocity that you are used to. Approvals will continue as normal. We will be using this time to focus on internal aspects of Kalons as well as fleshing out and implementing several systems that we have been discussing for awhile. Unfortunately if everyone was being pulled between general personal life things as well as all other mandated staff duties it would make it incredibly difficult to correctly and sufficiently implement these things that we wish to bring to you guys. We have decided that this semi-hiatus is the best course of action to insure we handle everything we need to so that we can bring this new content but still have a chance to make sure we do it right!

I'm sure you're all quite curious just what it is we will be working on during this month and the answer is quite a few major things! Below you can find a list of the things we hope to accomplish while we are focusing on internal works:

Please be advised that this list is not a complete list of all the things we will be working on as there are a few staff policies as well as some surprises that we have in store for you all once we return! That being said this is a very ambitious to-do list and while we will certainly strive to complete everything we can not guarantee it, however if something is not done by hiatus end it will still be worked on after wards.
