I agree with both sides—they should be active, but its unfair to take it away completely. How about if an artist feels that a character is not being active, they get a 'ban' from adopting any further JMDs until they can prove that they are being active with their character?

That's still not fair. Why would you punish someone for not doing things the way you feel they should be done?

Either way I do ask for this to stop. I think this has been brought on long enough and been hashed out several times. The CS staff won't allow a rule like this to be put in place so there's really no point in arguing it further.

I think that all Char wants is some notification that the user is being active with their character. We work very hard on our designs and I know that it's happened on quite a few occasions that the user adopts the dragon and then pretty much throws it away. Being active off CS/offline is one thing, but completely ignoring it is another.
I personally like Char's rule, but Komi, I completely see where you're coming from. Like many other users said, a PM would be the ideal solution. Completely confiscating the JMD? Not so much.
I know that I sometimes impose that same rule but on a much lighter note. I'd like to see them acknowledge the JMD in some way or another. Making art or joining the FC is great, but I know how hard that can be for some people. All I want to see is a post with the character's name every so often. Even 'I just won my new JMD, _____' is good. Or they could say that they draw them or whatever offline. All I want is to know that the JMD isn't going to waste. If I think it's being neglected after a certain period of time, I'll shoot them a PM. ^^

I agree 100% with Hekomi, though I see where you guys are coming from.

What I do, is if I see a JMD I made in the past no longer being used {or that I can see}, I shoot them a PM and say,
"Hey! I see you haven't been very active with your JMD, {JMDs link here} and was wondering if you wanted to put him/her up for readoption or something. And if you are active with him and I'm mistaken, I'm sorry and you can just ignore this PM. ^^'

and usually they reply saying yes because they don't use them/want them anymore, had completely forgotten about them and thank me for reminding them (then they start using them) and things like that.

Like Hekomi said, they could be doing private roleplays or something, or like, roleplaying through PMs or whatever.

So it's like, 100% completely unfair to just take someone's character away.

I mean,I agree with both sides as well. I have a Taiga, I entered on a whim and won her. I cant draw Taiga's at all, but Ivebeen practicing. Im not digitally active with her, but I am active. I have her entire story down on paper, and Id hate it if someone took hrfrom me, but if I didnt want her, And the artist pmed me, I'd tell them to put her back up for adoption. It should bea bit more leniant, but still should be able to take the adopt awayif the owner is alright with it,or becomes completely unactive from CS.

Based on what I've just read I still have to ask if this would get a ban or warning from CS staff;;
Sending the owner a PM after a span of time per say a month, and ask if they'd still like the JMD, if not let them know that they may give it up for re-adoption out side of the pound and not loose that adult slot. After that if they give it back after the opportunity then it'd just be a normal pound adoption as a solution to the whole inactive thing?

Sending them a PM is fine, but keep in not all people will want a PM like that. Wording it like how .Blue. said looks good. You need to remember that if you threaten someone that you'll take away their character you will most likely get a board warning for harassment. We don't let bullies on CS.

I've had some of my designs never be acknowledged by the winner, and as much as it sucks, life does go on. There will always be another design that you will make, and probably a better design too. As you practice, you improve.

Can we please drop this now though? Should a rule like this be imposed it will be removed by the staff. I've already sent a PM to Lumpinbanana about it, as well as a few other things we have been discussing, so there's really no more reason to put water under this bridge.

@Froggy; if you take someone's character away from them you will probably receive a warning since that's just mean.

If they don't want the JMD, a PM worded the way .Blue. put it would be fine to send, but keep in mind what I've already said.

Im with Komi on this guys.
I love my JMDs, I don't want to go near the fanclub much because it's just too confusing and 'secretive'. If anyone took away my JMDs I would be angry, just because I dont like the fanclub doesn't mean I don't like my JMDs.

I think Hekomi has already stated multiple times that taking an adopt away from an unwilling user is bad, and that they don't have to be active on CS, or very active at all to keep the design they could very well still love. It's getting a bit spammy, so can we please stop? (just trying to stop this, sorry if it's mini-modding or spam, truly sorry if it is)

I agree with Blue. A gentle reminder PM should be used indeed. Char doesnt seem like the type to threaten people, but Oblivion is right. Id be very mad if my design was left to rust in a damp corner, so a nice pm would remind them. We all getbusy here or there and get less active with some things, but a little reminder isnt horrible. A threat is.

Sorry, I know we were supposed to drop it, but it was nagging on me. This is the reason I dont take part in politics. Im always inbetween. I have my own religion, beliefs on everything... so yeah, sotry. But I had to finish XD im dont.. Im done. I gota headache now. But I think I broke my fear of Mods and staff.
