Now that the poll results are in, it looks like I will be commissioning EmberWolf soon for new Rise lines!
I know that there is a portion of the community that isn't necessarily happy with this change, or just doesn't like change, but I hope that you'll find some peace with it once it happens. I also hope you'll approach this with an open mind--it could be great. <3

This post is going to include information about everything currently planned, and I will do my best to address some of the common concerns brought up through discussion.
Please read the whole post before asking questions!

New Lines
Release date is to be determined because of the necessary fundraising, EmberWolf's working time, and my plan for a background competition/commission. Ideally, they will be released on a special date or for a special milestone. This may not be realistic, but we'll try.
I will order at the least two sets of adult lines (long and shorthair) and two sets of kitten lines (long and shorthair). They will include shading, but to allow for easy color picking artists will provide references without shading. EmberWolf does not do backgrounds with their lineart commissions.

Fundraising
For those of you interested (this is by all means not mandatory), you will have the opportunity to contribute towards the cost of new lines (and potentially backgrounds). This will be done through the points commission widget on DA, so that we are following CS privacy rules.
If more funds are raised than is needed for the lineart, the points will be directed towards the backgrounds commission or potentially extra lines. Quantities of some/all opportunities will be limited. A list of contributors and their "prizes" will be maintained publicly. The list and order forms will be here.


Transfers (50 spots, only up to 2 per person): I am offering transfers of cats from old lines to new lines. I will do my best to match other artists' styles, but definitely can't promise perfect replicas. Most will be 100 points to transfer. Complicated tabbies (rosette, marble) and torties will be 200 points. Some artists may choose to transfer their own designs, or volunteer to help me.
Special customs on the new lines (5 spots, one per person): Customs without need for extensive line edits such as rare color traits or small accessories. May also choose from extra linearts if they are a thing. 500 points.
Art commissions: Some Rise artists may be taking commissions where part or all of the price will go towards the lineart commission.



Backgrounds
As I said above, EmberWolf does not do backgrounds with lineart commissions. I know people would like to keep backgrounds (as would I), and I'd prefer our own unique backgrounds over using a free pack.
So, we are going to hold a competition to find an artist for Rise backgrounds. More to come on this later. Prizes will include having all of your Rise cats transferred to the new lines or a full milestone level custom and possibly points earned during fundraising if there is extra.

Transfers
Because of the large number of Rise cats in existence, it would not be fair (or realistic) to ask the artists to transfer all of their designs.
Aside from initial fundraising, transfers will be available as a challenge prize (specific challenge coming soon) and event prizes. We have yet to decide if transfers will be available otherwise.

WHAT ABOUT THE OLD LINES?
Despite my excitement for something new, I do love the old lines. They are part of Rise history. I do not want to retire them completely.
They will be used during special throwback events. More on those when they're planned.
From now until the release of the new lineart, the custom order limit placed on artists has been lifted so that they may take more than 5 orders at a time twice a month. This should allow all of you who love these lines to have one last hurrah before they are retired and only used for events.

Since it was brought up as a con, please do not worry about me or the artists. c: We are excited!
