hello all! another couple of announcements on this late november night. first things first:

secret santa for the bsa community! all the info is in the google doc - feel welcome to reach out with any questions! this form will be open for a week : ) both staff and community members are welcomed to participate!

second, I am currently going through staff apps! for those who have not yet heard back, sit tight! we are still in the process of determining applications. we are going one by one, and since staff has been a little busy as of late we are working on getting some other things moved off the back burner as well! however, for those who have not yet entered, feel welcome to toss in a form : )

this then leads into a couple other things! namely, a cover for baltic husky #400 has been posted, and it will also include a couple other adopts as well:

this milestone is also completely hidden from staff so it will be a surprise for us all! the hope is to get these 4 done by the end of november, as they require a bit of work to pull off, since they will be a completely brand new mutation ;) in addition to these adopts, we are now going to be opening the nursery for both reindeer and huskies, as well as imports! the only thing off limits right now are customs, which involves some site mechanics.

regarding the site, I decided to make some last minute changes to how some of the systems work (because I am ever indecisive). I am also going to be revamping some of the pages currently available with the help of alhena, who will be my stand in for creativity ™️ this will also let us have some more time to add more art to the site as well!

hello hello all! a bit of a refreshing update, so I will try to keep this one shorter : )

first off, happy holidays! I hope you all have enjoyed the break from school and work. as a gift from the staff to you, we would like to first announce make your own reindeer, located here:

this includes a free uncommon reindeer for anyone interested! : )

this is in part because our site is soft releasing today. we are currently limiting invites to those who had been active prior (to those active in the event only at this time - just to make sure everything works as intended!) but will be releasing the site as a whole soon. it will continue to run on an invite-only basis to prevent those who are underage from joining, as in order to get one the user must pm one of the BSA administrators. otherwise, it will eventually become open to all who are willing to ask for an invite! : )

some of the cool features I am particularly excited about include breeding slots, different backgrounds, an automated title system (yay!) and automated shops. some upcoming features include gardening, BSA official companions, themes (coming very soon) and adventuring. so what does this mean for the general community member?

the intent is that the majority of members will join, as those who are a part of the site have the ability to use shops and gain more currency, as well as develop your BSA profile. for those who stick to the cs side, everything else will remain normal, like any other cs adopt! adopts will still be hosted here and they will remain completely free! you will still be able to breed your baltics, as well as keep them on cs. the only difference is that you will not be able to earn new items and will lack the automation of everything else. the goal of the site isn't to make money like moves to deviantart typically do or bring baltics away from CS - the goal is to reduce workload on the staff, as well as give me an outlet since this is what I am getting my masters in. that being said, please feel welcome to check out the landing page at balticsledassociation.com, as well as if you happen to see any of the pages posted around cs : )

as a result of the site going live, we would also like to welcome one of our trial mods who's trial period ended onto the team as full time staff. please welcome kenny as a full mod who will be working alongside our long-time mod luxio! we are happy to have them as a full time staff member <3

the next couple of weeks may be a little bit more quiet as we work on importing everything, but we also wanted to thank you all for your patience and love for this species. we are glad you enjoy it as much as we do! : ) thanks for sticking through this year with us, and we hope you enjoy the new year!
