No, it's certainly not based off of kias, though they may be similar in a sense. However, the species are quite different. Just because they both have lion tails, horns, and a canine structure doesn't mean they don't have differences too. For instance, chimas don't have manes unless given and only have one type of horns, not three. They also don't have to have spots and aren't as big as a kiamara. Plus, only Chimas have mist and always wear their pendent. Another thing to note is this is the original sketch of the species that I used to draw v.1 way back when. Clearly, it looks nothing like kiamaras.
(sorry if I might have sounded harsh... I honestly didn't mean to and certainly didn't mean to badger anyone or hurt anyone's feelings, just voicing my opinion with some facts. Sorry if I may have offended anyone.)
