Pup Number: 1
Pup's Name: Iou
Personality:
As a Pup:
Confident- Iou never doubts herself, rushing head-first into whatever conflict she meets. She’s completely confident that everything will work out just fine, and doesn’t always use her head.
Curious- Always asking questions and demanding story after story, Iou’s curiosity never seems to diminish in the slightest. Her curiosity also tends to lead her directly to trouble, but what pup doesn’t find themselves in the occasional “sticky situation”?
As an Adult:
Wise- After Iou’s injury, she has to learn great patience in order to get around and function in day-to-day life as a Warrior. She realizes that if she is to find a sense of normality once more, she will have to work harder and longer than any other Warrior, and as Iou grows and learns by the elder Warriors’ teachings, Iou becomes wise. She becomes the one that tells tales to listening ears and teaches the youngest the ways of the pack.
Thoughtful- No longer rushing into her problems, Iou begins to step back and seriously contemplate the situation before diving in.
Lifelong:
Determined- If Iou does end up setting her mind to something she will not back down until it has been seen through. Many Warriors are determined, but Iou’s determination is so strong that it is lined with stubbornness. You can be assured that if Iou is passionate enough, she will follow through.
Brave- Though she becomes far more sensible at an adult, she will never lose her bravery. Iou is always ready to defend her pack, with her life if it comes down to that. She will jump into battle at the second she is needed, with absolutely no regrets.
Short Story (399 Words): To this day, pups gather round and stare hungrily as I tell them of a Warrior who’s ambitions were set far too high. I only wish that the Warrior I spoke of was not myself…
I remember it faintly: it would have been any average day, if the air had not reeked with the tang of blood. Eskadai and Vouno, my parents, were at war with the Kronadors, a species that I had heard many legends of but never seen with my own eyes. I didn’t find it fair- how they got to fight like brave and noble Warriors, and I was stuck in my den. I had to go and fight.
Slipping out of the den tunnels wasn’t the most difficult. Finally I was able to use my size to my advantage! From there I followed the trail of flattened grass, pounded by dozens of Warriors’ paws. For a moment I was apprehensive, but I shrugged it off. Warriors must not have any regrets as they head into battle, I reminded myself.
And then, all too quickly, the battle raged in front of me. Kronadors ten times my size loomed over my pack-mates’ heads, crushing and wounding and swiping. I gasped, completely unprepared for the scene that lay before me. A large Kronador caught me out of the corner of his eye, and roaring ferociously, left his previous victim and staggered towards me. I ran for my life, quickly ducking under a cave entrance which was etched into the cliff face behind me.
Before I could comprehend what was going on, the ceiling above me was crumbling. I was being pressed flat against the ground by a pile of rubble. I gasped for air, and everything around me started spinning. My wrist burned as if set on fire. I thought of Eskadai and Vouno, and how devastated they would be to lose their daughter. But there was no hope. Why had I been so stupid? I blacked out.
I was stuck in that cave for little more than two hours, at which point I was discovered by a horrified cluster of Warriors and dragged out, but the effects will last me for the rest of my life. To this day I am disabled, limping around on a twisted paw. My injury is due to my own stupidity. Still, every day I ask myself: do I deserve the pain?

Add-On #1- Iou Speaks About her Injury: "Everyone was at first convinced that I'd never be able to give back to the community- that I'd never be able to hunt or fight for them ever again. In fact, it turned out to be quite the opposite. I still have three good paws to run on when hunting, and Kronadors are always taken aback when they learn that I am quite able to fight. If anything, my paw taught me patience, and a kind of realization that no injury will ever be able to hold me back. I will always find a way. Sure, it's slightly annoying when I forget about my injury and lay on it or whatever, but I think it's done me a whole lot of good. Will it ever heal? Most likely not; I've been told that it is an injury that goes far beyond the common cuts and bruises. Will it ever disable me? No."
