The staff has come to the decision that, instead of any sort of doll-adoption limitations, as a whole, we will make more 'non-owner' and 'owns-less-than-#-dolls' adopts. Why? Because, while many people try out for dolls, only a few actually finish the forms, and the artists are worried that, with a doll-limit rule, the amount of quality forms will drop.
However, we'll also try for more raffles and other contests not judged entirely on effort, as it's understood that some people just don't have time.

That's great! It is rather hard because most people win repeatedly because they code very well, and have found good coding sites - while others try as best they can with the time they have.
It's a great idea.

we've actually mentioned nurseries before!! i don't think there's a set plan for one yet since dolls don't actually reproduce? they come into existence through being abandoned, or whatever, they aren't ''born''. if anything you can adopt a 'younger-looking' doll for now, aaaa idk.

I think it'd be cool if there was a Doll "Nursery" of some sort. Like, the designs of both dolls being smashed together? I know it woudn't really work with the theme because dolls can't have babies, but I think it'd be so adorable XP

Well it you would go with the them there could be a doll maker that makes smash ups of dolls, those thier children would stay children sized -shrug- idk

ah i think this is a cool idea, but i think the whole point of dolls not being able to have babies was because each doll is custom made and trying to make custom babies for custom dolls would be hard. dollhouse isn't really like a lot of the animal adopts you see here on cs, these characters aren't designed so that they could be turned into baby makers later on, you know? plus we'd probably have to get a whole new batch of artists to make the babies, or call on current artists we have right now, and that's just a lot of work orz

correct me if i'm wrong, though. this just seems like a idea that'd be good on paper and work out terribly when we tried it.

The nursery won't be put into action anytime soon because I'm just far too busy atm and don't want to put any more stress on our artists~

this was all discussed in july, though, so you never know what may happen? i do know that a lot of the artists around here are pretty active, though, so i think we're still running into the 'no time for the artists/owner to have nursery responsibilities' issue.

I know part of the reason why I have just been lurking is due to not having the time to compete with other coders/artists on the quality spectrum. I adore these dolls, but with school, I can't just sit there and code for hours on an adopt I might not even win (I get that thats a part of the deal, but why waste two+ hours if you don't have a shot at it, yanno?). So I think some raffles are helpful for those who don't have the time.
That being said, I also think contest adopts with coding and such can be really interesting, so I think a mix might be cool to see in the future.
