is there a limit to how many dolls you can own?
I've been seeing multiple users enter for practically every contest,
and winning every other doll. It's really discouraging when the same
user always wins, and no one says a thing about it :'0

i think there should be some time limit between when you can try out
for another doll after just winning one..

there isn't a limit to how many dolls someone can own as of right now as stated on the front page in the rules section. i'm sure that since this has been mentioned that the Dollhouse staff will try to discuss what to do from there in order to make things more fair. as for right now, just try not to be too discouraged, artists try to be fair while judging and don't purposely pick the same person, i think that a majority of us try to take lots of different variables into consideration while judging. also, though, there's been an influx of adopts put out recently with fairly simple contests that may be a bit easier to win 'w'/ try not to give up pal!!

New rule! Thanks, Tricksters, for posting your question and concerns, as hopefully the Dollhouse will run smoother now. You and ~Silver have my thanks, because this was an awesome suggestion.

not even a month ago would this apply to you>

@slimedog// ty for the uplifting comments, honestly a limit to dolls owned
doesn't bother me too much, just how many people pull in away from others :'00

The reason some users win so many dolls is because a lot of people mark contests, but then never actually finish a form. There is usually only one or two completed by the time a contest ends.
If someone enters and actually works hard to finish a form, they have a great shot at winning.
I think this new rule is a bit unfair, especially since Dolls aren't like other adopts, where they use the same base over and over. Each doll is unique, and it seems very unfortunately to have to make someone choose just ONE they want to try out for.
And what if someone enters more than one comp, and they have worked very hard on all of them. One they win one, they have to drop out of the others and all that hard work goes to waste?

Bah, I wasn't going to say anything but now I want to. I agree with you on that, Sly.Blue. There are some many different dolls to choose from which would make it really hard to pick which one you want to try out for. There will most likely also be times when a doll is made on the same month that you've already adopted a doll, but ya can't enter because you've already gotten a doll that month. Now I'm not saying a limit on how many you can adopt in a month is a bad idea, but one seems too restricting to me.

I think I might pop into this if that is OK...

I agree with sinon. and Sly.Blue on this as one month seems far to long between adopting one doll. And there are dolls released that many really like, but with this rule in place people won't actually be able to adopt.
I understand this rule is to make it fairer for those who don't win a doll, but I think one doll during a timespan of a month is far to restrictive. Perhaps if the amount of dolls you can win in a month was increased to 2 or 3, then it may feel far less restrictive. But even if the time span is lowered to 2 or, possibly, 1 week then it becomes even more less restrictive.
And there are people who put a lot of effort into their forms and because of this new rule, loads of people may have to drop out of contests of dolls they really love, because they want to try and win another one more. But then another issue with that is that what if they do not win that doll? Because then they just dropped out of contests which they could of won but couldn't because they dropped out.

I think that in response to the posts above, there should be a limit on how many dolls you can own rather than the time between them. Again, the reason people win frequently is because they try very hard and the judges genuinely think that they deserve the doll. I don't see an issue with making a limit though, because in my experience with adoptables, for one reason or another, the more successful ones have limits. However, I find it unfair to make people drop all of their hard work on other adopts because they won another. Besides, what if a user wins a doll, and then less than a month later another doll is released that they love very much and feel a really strong connection to? I don't think it would be fair to that user not to let them try. Instead, you could set a limit like "you can only own up to 8 dolls" or something like that.
Just my opinion, not trying to bash anyone or anything I just want to propose something else.

The staff has come to the decision that, instead of any sort of doll-adoption limitations, as a whole, we will make more 'non-owner' and 'owns-less-than-#-dolls' adopts. Why? Because, while many people try out for dolls, only a few actually finish the forms, and the artists are worried that, with a doll-limit rule, the amount of quality forms will drop.
However, we'll also try for more raffles and other contests not judged entirely on effort, as it's understood that some people just don't have time.

I hope the community approves of this change! If you have any more concerns or question, feel free to shoot me a PM.
