Members of the staff,
I hope when you are reading these you do so with a opened mind, I understand how it could possibly sound as if we are attacking you, each of you, personally, though that isn't our motive. Like Bonus, I would not bring this to your attention if I believed that it wasn't something we need to address.
I am in agreement with Chomp's post, it was so well done and, I believe, rather necessary. As you can tell, she has my complete support.
I was once a mod/archive helper, I am one of the cousins Chomp mentioned.
After quitting, I stated my ex-position to some users in a chat, all I got as irritable responses about JBD staff, how they were biased, etc, etc...
I believe this shows how messed up things are, members need to have respect for the staff, so staff must show the members that they are indeed respectable. You cannot simply state you are respectable, you must, by your actions and words, show the community that you are indeed that of which you claim, as it is not a title you can claim without a price, after all “with great power comes great responsibility”.
The little trinkets that you earn, customs etc. are rewards you have gained for the help you gave to the community, not because you have had the honour of becoming the “higher” then the rest of us.
This sort of attitude brings tension to both parties, which in turn makes it hard to trust anyone. And as “a house divided against itself cannot stand” I truly hope that you take the time to ensure a better future for the members as well as the staff.
For example, I feel that not being able to colour into the new lines puts a gap between the older, loyal members, some of which have been active for years, and the staff, some of which have only just become came into the team, I think that either no one should be aloud or everyone, after all it is the new ref sheet for the species, it has the correct anatomy, and though it may be a large task adding people to the lines, I am sure that many would love to step up to help.
I know that some of made giftline ref sheets, though it really isn't the same and it would be about the same thing to add people the lines.
As for you members, please do not see Koiley's hospitality as a means to “bully” the staff.
Thank you Koiley, by the way, for adding that. I hope to see improvements soon.
