He couldn't quite place when or where the little goddess stumbled into his life, yet Amorette lay in a pile of wrapping papers and tissues. Freya's face twitched a bit at the thought of cleaning the mess. As if hearing his thoughts, she turned towards his gaze- pink eyes lighting up as a huge smile plastered itself on her face.
"You're a brat," deadpanned Freya.
"Oh, I know. And I'm not cleaning this all by myself either," she chirped, returning her focus to the work at hand. Soft cream wings laid flat against her back, brows furrowed as her paws fumbled about. "Can you pass the ink?" Amorette chirped.
With a loud huff, Freya shifted his body to reach for several bottles of ink. Most were in a dark amber color with golden flecks, but there were silver and black as well. The much larger kalon scooped them all into his arms, meandered over to his female companion, and placed them by her side. "Well," he sighed, sitting down and fiddling with the sloshing inks, "what're you workin' on?"
Dipping her pen into a nearby bottle, filling the basin with colored liquid, she adeptly swept across the page. Almost like magic calligraphy appeared, eloquently scribed words - Kaela and Hotaru. Once done, she placed the page on a drying rack, refilled her pen, and reached for another cream paper. The goddess worked like this for quite a while, ink stains collecting in her fur and even a blotch on her dual-colored bangs.
"May wanna slowdown," Freya said, pausing his friend to smudge the ink out of her hair. "And answer my question while you're at it," he chuckled, knowing full well how intense Amorette got when it came to her work. "What's this, and who are they?"
Her large tail bobbed impatiently, as if expecting her friend to keep up with her rapidly thinking mind. "Gifts, of course! These are for some of the couples near and dear to my lil ol' heart," she smirked, tapping the papers for emphasis. "Long time mates, new lovers, parents of kiddos, all the lovely kalons who have fallen in love and stuck with it. That deep, settled sorta love," Amorette giddily explained. The fur on her neck was fluffed out, wings chittering happily. If ever there was someone who adored their job, it was this girl.
"Okay... but what is it?" he repeated, still unsure what exactly two busy parents would do with a sheet of pretty writing.
Amorette's sassy glare immediately took over, her eyes rolling but a smirk there too. "So uncultured. You frame it, obviously. Put it in some pretty rustic wood frame, a dark lacquer, an-"
Freya cut her off with a chuckle. "You got this off of pinterest didn't you? Or was this an instagram DIY instead? You goddesses aren't all that creative eh," he smiled, ruffling her hair.
"And you mortals make the worst kinds of friends. Now shush up and let me work," Amorette huffed, fixing her hair and hiding the playful glint in her eye.
