Would I ask if an artist would be willing to do it on the fanclub? And along with the palette, could I choose what the edits would look like (such as drawing them on a kalon base and sending it beforehand?)
Thank you so much in advance!
you can message any artist that is open ^^ as long as they are open to doing a hm, that would be fine! And any sort of inspiration pic (palette, a picture, a theme etc) + the desired edits is usually norm!

I was wondering what the edits were for a merkal
like having it be half fish, what kind of edit is that? Like Standard, Common etc., wise
Merkal edits would be half fish, half kal, like this one for example; merkal tails/traits are legendary (gene splice w/ a fish)

not to be rude in any way, but why was the breeding cooldown extended so much? i realize we don't want kalons to be bred asap, but i really like having my kalons in relationships, and most of them are ready for kits, and i feel terrible making someone wait 3 or more weeks to do an ic batch when i need to do plenty more. that's simply only me because im a sucker for lovey dovey writing so i like having relationships between kalons. it used to be so nice when it was only a week because now i feel like im going to need to wait 4 months to breed a couple who is ready for kits. one week was perfect! i understand that there needs to be some boundaries but it really is such an inconvenience

Before, there were a lot of breeding requests constantly, something artists were having troubles keeping up with, and even as they made as many batches as they could there was still constant backlash that we weren't making enough. Extending it out to three weeks not only allowed more time for artists to make and accept batches before that one individual was ready for another but it also allowed time for the kits from a previous batch to be eligible for a growth. With the one week system, you could have approximately three whole batches before your first kits were adults, leaving for a sizable issue within the growth side of the community as not everyone can grow the Kalons themselves. Under the one week system we had a large influx of overdue kit growths, the same users receiving slots each week with little room for others, and a heavy workload for artists who struggled to keep up with demand. We have a lot of members within this community. The three week system actually allows for more people to get a batch than before, as those who have already bred have a cooldown that allows for those who have not to receive a slot. ^^

I'm also curious! As well as for trades
Before the trade cooldown was implemented, users would often trade kalons willy-nilly; the fanclub was flooded with trade ads and essentially there wasn't any sort of rhyme or reason to keep things in check. A trade cooldown was added (and later extended to one trade a month, rather than one every two weeks) so users would take the time to see if they could connect and prevent kalons from being used as a sort of "trade fodder" species.

Okay dumb question, but I can't find an answer listed in the main thread. What's the process for applying an item edit? Like, if I bought an item that would let me add common hair to a kal, and I find an artist willing to apply the edit, do I need to get it approved somewhere? Is there a specific way the edit has to be applied. Thank you in advance for any help!

you are allowed to apply the edit however you want, as long as it follows the general guidelines (aka common/standard hair edits only apply to their respective rarity) and after the edit is applied, please seek out approval by a staff member! You must have an approval on the edit ^^
