out of curiosity, what are the artists' stances on runner ups (similar-but-different designs given when a contestant posed a hard choice in the judging but didn't win the original design) ? I was just wondering because I hadn't seen any yet.

Hoshikuzu and .grantaire awarded me and momotarou runner ups for the sun and moon babes, but i'm not sure about otherwise since it was a special event :U

rus are allowed like with any species you just dont see them here all that often because everything is custom made, remember? we cant just color in a base with the same markings just different colors like with animal species. our rus would take a lot of time and so the artists don't reward them. it could also be because many of our contests happen to be simple/tiny. there's no use in awarding a ru for a naming or 3 day coding contest for a competition with less than 4 pages haha.

just correct me if im wrong though. i myself have done one ru, and it took me forever because it had to be completely custom to stay consistent with dollhouse's unique way of running things.
