Hello Hello guys! Last week was wonderful and full of beta testing updates and making the necessary changes to the new BSA website!

We've all been working extremely hard to bring these changes to everyone and reopen the association! Some of the updates so far are as follows:

-Making code changes to the website to best suit multiple versions, ie. mobile vs pc
-Getting world lore posted to help make better sense of the origins of the association
-Making custom site images
-Fixing misc. bug reports
And much more!

With this being said, we are going to be pushing back the official opening of the species and the association site as things have picked up in our real lives as well! Venatici and I adopted a cat over the weekend and over the last 3 days we have been using our time to make sure he is as settled in as possible! :3 While we are continuing to work on the site, along with the Beta Tester's help, we realized that there was more to be done before we feel confident enough to make it available to everyone.

We both want to thank you all for your patience as we are extremely excited to see both new and old faces join us for the Baltics reopening! If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to us!

howdy all - been a bit quiet around here, but we are nearing the end of development (yay)! as such, we are going to look towards getting back up to speed with everything now that the bulk is done. taking on an entire website was definitely a lot more than I initially bargained for, but the end is in sight! : )

the main idea here is have baltic reindeer for those who have more interest in a traditional cs adopt environment, and baltic huskies for those who would like a more arpg styled environment. you can still use reindeer for arpg activities and stick to just the cs adopt environment for huskies, but we figured this would be a good middle ground!

as such I just released the artist search for baltic reindeer if you'd like to check it out (if you're interested): it does not have the new lines, but we figured good to get all of our staff together and get a check in before opening day! let me know if you have any questions as always!

hello all! I wanted to come in and officially announce the closing of the event, as well as the official closing of this old lines thread. thank you all for participating! we are excited to have these kiddos up and running again!

here are the new lines for those who have not seen:


as a beginning for those who are not in the discord or were in the event, please also welcome some of our newest staff! extend a warm welcome to chromatic. and yeena who have joined the artist team during the event and already provided some quality kiddos for the community <3

we are going to now be transitioning over to normal operations. what does this mean for you?

starting tomorrow, adopts will be posted on the main thread. this is to give time to runner ups who have not been posted yet, especially for adopts released last night! this means artists will not be posting any adopts today to give some time to catch up.

the website will be unveiled within the next couple of days. currently we are waiting on some users who participated in the event and won rewards, but have not filled out the google form

once I get more responses / reach out to those this applies to, we will be able to get things moving ^^

for both species, we are going to be implementing some changes in the way that we do things. there are now four different "services" our artists will be working on: customs, transfers, imports, and breedings!

customs will be free and can only be earned through events or the titling program. our staff go by the rule of thumb to "be sensible", so we are extending that courtesy to the community. however, if there is seen to be abuse of this system, we will be very strictly limiting what customs can have. as for now, the only limitation is customs with very rare or above traits need approval from one of the administrators (oats, arkin, or myself).
transfers are mostly going to be for huskies, and you do not need to receive a voucher any longer for a free transfer. our artists are going to be working off of a 3 - 1 system, meaning for every 3 free transfers they do, they are allowed to request payment for 1. how each artist delegates this is up to them!
imports are now a new thing we are adding, running off of the same system for transfers. essentially these are "founder" dogs that any member can receive, essentially a guaranteed adopt. we are going to be implementing this system with the additional idea for those who do not have any baltics, they will always be free.
breedings are now also going to be open for both huskies and reindeer! I know some of yall are super excited to get some year old breedings in, so these will be postponed for a short while as we get everything sorted out specifically as there have been some discussions we are having as a team. but no fear! all breedings will be free, because at the crux of it we want this species to be free to enjoy.

all of these will be working off of the main thread for each species, except for breedings done with reindeer. since most of these edits would need to be hand drawn by artists (they are not as rigid as huskies) it makes more sense to distinguish the two threads, especially since with reindeer we are aiming for a more typical 'cs adopt' environment.

in addition, we will be making some updates to our genetics guide for huskies and some general updates to both species! this includes looking to onboard a couple of non-artist related staff. more information will be coming about this in the next coming days as oats and I now work to overhaul all of our cs pages so that they reflect the current state of the species, as well as compile those updates into the website. the website changes a lot of things, so I will detail more about that for those who are getting invite codes. essentially the way this will work is we will have our first round of 'early access', which are those who participated in the event, be able to test out the site before it becomes publicly available for everyone. this way if there are any issues we didn't catch in the testing, we have time to mitigate them before it goes public. a little bit easier to test with 15 people than the whole community!
