My working out:

Dog ears - K-9, could have a 9 in it
3 Horns- Tri -somthing
Horse like- Horse (XD)
Markings on rump: Painted/paint
Unique: Charisma could be somewhere (love that word, Charisma...)
Tri- Painted Charisma
na, could be a good name for one of these guys though...RIGHT I HAVE DIBS ON THAT NAME FOR WHEN IM ADOPTING ONE XD

Species Name: Masqulloptes
Why?
Masquerade because of the mask, ull = skull for the mask again and optes.. because it sounded cool
I also have Sakina Maquetri.
Sakina = calm, because the speices looks like it has a calm nature, Maqu (I love the word Masquerade) and tri because of the pair of three horns and three toes or clowe thingys.
I was also thinking of PaintMoon Galloppers

Derived from: 'Monoceri' is derived from the old term for 'unicorn'- Monocerus (meaning 'one horn'). Similarly you could use 'Triceri', which would equate to 'three horns'

I think I would name them, in my opinion which may or may not be stupid. I would name them something (pretty much) :

The Masked Ones of _______

The name, I believe, if I translated it correctly, which, granted, maybe I didn't, but it should mean 'The Masked Horses' though it may be singular, granted I am using my very limited Latin knowledge plus my textbook for Latin class. I chose this because they are masked, I chose something very eloquent feature of this species, i.e. its interesting mask, I like the way it looks and it stands out, so I chose it to cap the name. It sounds more scientific and official and mystically ancient in Latin, so I chose Latin to write the name.
Its caption; 'The Masked Ones of ______' implies maybe put their home land in the gap or something, or alternatively, change it, I also thought of:
'The Horned Ones'
'The Shadowed Ones'
It just adds a sort of official addition to the title that gives potential adopters a gist of what it is before they read properly about it. I don't know if you like that, but I thought it made sense.

Thats about all my explanation, sorry if it sounds stupid, I am not so creative but I figured it was worth a shot right?
