Hmm, that wasn't it either. Sakura was so excited to have possible helped the gummy citizen, but the search continues. The crisp morning air ruffles her wings, causing her to involuntarily tuck them in closer to act as a buffer against the cold. She ducks into a building to regain her warmth before searching again, and right by the door is a small hat hung up on a hook. As she picks it up, something snags and gets stuck on the hook. Looking closer as to not break it, she sees that it is an ornate flower pin made of knots and thread. It looks like the right size for a gummy citizen, so Sakura decides to bring it back to her poor hat-less friend anyway.

Sakura shakes her head while gesturing to her mouth, and the other riders on the wagon understand that she doesn't speak. Another rider then perks up and begins to tell the tale of two lucky campers who just barely scraped by with a supernatural encounter. It went a little something like this:
"Two chicoons named Ava and Mimi went camping in the desert together. They hiked for several miles before setting up their tent and fire to cook up some dinner. Of course they told each other ghost stories and laughed long into the night. Eventually they settled inside their tent and went to sleep.
Ava was startled awake in the early hours of the morning by a voice that sounded like Mimi's. It said, 'Come quick! Look!' She stumbled outside to see what the fuss was about. 'Come quick! Look!' The voice called out again, eerily similar in tone and inflection to the first time. Ava took a few steps towards the voice before her arm was grabbed and she stopped dead in her tracks. Turning around, Ava meet Mimi's frightened eyes. Confusion and fear struck Ava like lightning, and the two gathered up all of their belongs and quickly moved as far away from their campsite as they could.
To this day, they still don't know who - or what - was trying to lure Ava out into the darkness."

Prompt: Mania wandered the maze, when he saw a hat simply laying on the ground! He soon realized he couldn’t grab it. Peeling it slightly up, gum was stuck to the hat! It kept it attached to the ground, preventing Mania from taking it to the Kingdom. Oh well, maybe next time.

Prompt: Halki picked up a nice-looking baseball cap from the ground.
When he turned the hat to see its detail, something sticky got his fur.
There was a melted strawberry candy stuck onto the side of the cap. It had the same color as the red part of the hat.
Now his paw felt like an inseparable sticky paper.

Prompt: Halki prepared a spooky story for his group, and he stated that it was based on a true story. The group gathered around a campfire and carefully listened to Halki's story. It was about the poltergeist in his house at midnight, and while it wasn't that scary to the group, he looked scared just by telling his own personal experience.
Velka wondered if she should tell Halki the truth. The ghostly manifestation he was talking about was probably due to her companion Sesonas, since Sesonas preferred to move at night.

Everett was definitely getting a little agitated with the gummy citizen. They felt like they were being tricked to go on a wild goose chase. Everett disliked hats, but they could clearly tell who kept hat shops in business. To their amazement, Everett found a hat fairly close to the location of the gummy citizen. There appeared to be something stuck to the hat. Upon closer investigation, Everett found a note pinned to the hat. The handwriting was basically unintelligible. Maybe the gummy citizen would know what it said?

They were actually looking forward to going to the cemetery. There is a lot of history behind a cemetery, and you could learn a lot about someone by their headstone. When asked to present a scary story, Everett froze in place. They blurted out, “Uh, the scariest thing I can think about right now is Disney World. Just think about all of the children.” They trembled and shut their eyes.

Prompt: Aztec wants to help with all the hats, and he goes sorting through different ones, taking in all of the colors and textures and materials. Some are very luxurious, but he finds one that is a bit worn-out looking, and this really catches his attention so he pauses for a closer look...

The hat appears to have once belonged to a cowboy or maybe a mafioso, because it has a brim that goes all the way around the entire thing, in a circle. One end of the brim points upward but on the other side it dips down, almost as though it is drooping a bit. He wonders whether that was done on purpose or simply through its own weight being affected by gravity with the passage of time, but there is really no way to know for certain.

Then he notices something stuck to the hat. It appears to be a bright red feather, held in place by a pin! The feather isn't very large, in fact it is on the smaller side and this makes him believe that it was once part of a cardinal, shed off when they molt their feathers yearly. He would have loved to see the bird itself, and is even more curious about who may have worn the hat in the past. He grabs it in his paws, flapping his wings happily.

When everyone is done at the pumpkin patch, it is time to get back in the hayride and head to a spooky graveyard! Borgata cuddles his pumpkin close. He is a bit nervous about this entire thing, because he has never gone anywhere scary before! In fact, he has never been scared before either, but this is likely about to change. Part of him feels a bit worried but there is another part, a strong part, which is excited! He wants to do all the things, get the full experience of life, and now is the time!

Borgata listens to the others telling their creepy stories, and then tells one of his own.

"Once upon a time there was a chicoon with a parasite. The parasite's name was Nermal. When Nermal was discovered, he was only covering one of the chicoon's toes! A single toe, if you can believe that, not even their whole leg!

But every day Nermal grew bigger and bigger, growing up to the elbow and then the whole leg! Nermal got so big that he covered the back legs and the tail, and at this point the chicoon joked that they were Siamese twins, two beings sharing one body, but that was not the end...

The parasite grew bigger and bigger, covering the chicoon's body more than half way, taking over one front leg and then the other! So that the only thing you could see of the original chicoon was their head sticking up and their skinny little neck, and they thought it would end there, the chicoon thought they were 'sharing' the body after all... but wait...

One day the parasite got so big that it covered the wings and even the entire face of the chicoon! And the next day, when the parasite looked down, it saw a tiny mark on one of its toes, the same color that the chicoon used to be!!!"

Prompt:
"Missin' hat? I think you're in luck," Surfguppy exclaimed. "I actually found a hat layin' around all by its lonesome not too far from here! Here ya go!"
Guppy placed the hat on the gummy citizen's head. It was a little red bowler hat; not too much else fo note about it, other than the fact there was a white ribbon tied around it, the ends of the ribbon hanging off the side of the hat in a way that'd let the ribbon flap around if the hat was worn in a windy area. When Surfguppy found the hat, it seemed a section of the ribbon had became loose so that it eas not entirely attatched to the side of the hat, so he decided to glue the area under the ribbon to keep it in place. He spilled the glue once or twice, but it was mostly dry now.
The chicoon smiled. "You're welcome!"
"...Is it okay if I just stay here for a bit— I got the ribbon stuck back on the hat but i may or may not have also gotten my paw stuck on it with the glue as well!"

Esper had wished Spritely was there at the moment, considering ghost always had plenty of spooky stories to share. They could always count on the pinkish chicoon to talk about all things paranormal. Fortunately, Esper remembered a little about one of the tales Spritely told them about and decided to tell it once again to the other chicoons on the hayride:

"I heard about some old cemetery where some strange stuff went down; every time you'd walk by the opening, a shiver would run down your spine, even in the middle of summer. Talk about having no chill while having all the chill in the world! It only worsened when you walked through the gates. You could hear laughter every now and again, even if you were, like, the last person alive in the cemetery. I mean, yeah, if you went in alone, you're totally the last person alive in there, but you know what I mean! Some people said the gravestones would rearrange themselves or move from one part of the cemetery to another. If you just stood in one part of the cemetery looking at a buncha stones and then blinked, when you opened your eyes again, a few would be missing without a trace, and then they'd change again the next time you glanced away and then looked back! Totally freaky! Footsteps when there was nobody else there, whispering, the names on the stone changing every time you looked at them... And don't even get me started on some of the mausoleums, yo! The stories about hearing noises from inside them..."

...Esper could've sworn there was one more chicoon on the hayride that wasn't there now.

Prompt: Tigon walked through the maze, the thick fog cascading the ground. Off in the distant he saw something glistening on the floor, reflecting the blue hues within the maze. He sucked in a breath as he approached it. He wasn’t entirely sure what it could be but whatever it was he hoped it wasn’t dangerous. He stopped in front of it, it gleamed up at him bouncing the blues off of his fur. He could see his reflection in part of whatever it was. Tigon reached down and snatched it up. It was soft to the touch and it appeared like a cute black hat with crystal beads scattered across it. Perhaps someone had lost in the maze like he had lost his way. He stuffed it in his satchel and proceeded onwards.

Prompt: Tigon walked through the metal gated entrance. He had heard when he was younger that it was meant to keep demons in. Although him being taught that he never really felt scared. He turned to see other Chicoons gathered in a circle under a big oak, flash lights beaming in one anothers faces. Tigon plopped down grinning, he felt like he told the best stories. He had grabbed one of the flashlights pointing it against his face. “Once upon a time there was a tunnel. This tunnel was the entrance to the underworld! Within the tunnel came strange sounds, demon like roars being heard.” He bounced towards one of the others and they flinched slightly. “One day a brave Chicoon decided to venture into that tunnel. He couldnt possible believe that there was an entrance into the underworld. As he ventured further and further he started to hear weird sounds…” Tigon made a growling sound and leaned forward. “This brave soul had seen lights in the distance, except these lights were eyes, two sets of eyes. As they disappeared behind the wall this Chicoon chased after them. He was bold..but perhaps not so smart. These eyes were attached to one of those demons down in the pits of the underground, drawing adventures deeper into the labyrinth of they abyss. Light screams echoed around the tunnel as the chicoon was never seen again.” The wind snapped through the oak near them making a almost shrieking sound sending all the Chicoons to their feet.
