question about HM and one about shines

1 . Would you be able to pick one of said rarity edits , and one below of that rarity or is this only for the rare + semi-customs ?
for example ; I would be able to pick a common edit , and a standard edit , I would be able to pick an uncommon edit , and a common edit etc etc

2 . Out of curiosity, are shines able to be matte ?

Furthering from that, what would be a reason staff would turn off PMs? Sometimes you need to ask questions about their contests or something and without their PMs on its very difficult to get answers

If you have enough HMs to get a semi-custom, is there a specific place to ask or do you PM artists to see if they're open? This is also for MYOs if you are unable to make it on Oekaki- I know that official artists don't have to make approved MYO designs along with the fact that there is a thread for off-line transfers, but I also take it that bumping that thread to try to find someone willing to transfer it would count as unwanted spam?

You are always free to ask around on the Customs or Fanclub Threads, as well as PM an artist to see if they're available. Please do not bump the Kalon threads either as it is seen as spam. c:

Are we allowed to claim a suggestion on the Suggestion thread as a MYO?

It would be best to ask the individual who suggestion the design first! But there is no rule against claiming the suggestions as customs whatsoever.

No, you may only receive one edit from the proper rarity. A 5 HM custom is one standard edit. A 10 hm custom is one common edit. However, if you have a 10 hm custom you're free to split that into two standard edits for the custom.

Shines, as stated in the lore, are iridescent material similar to hummingbirds or snake. They must be shiny as they're used for identification and show.

Yes, you may put non rarity edits on your HM/MYO customs as they're being made!

Sometimes our artists take hiatuses to deal with real life matters, which is well within their rights. You can either turn to asking this question on the contest itself, ask another staff member, or wait for the individual to return from hiatus. Not every artist is always readily available for the community, which is why we have a whole team of staff to assist you all.

What is a "personal nursery batch"?
I saw some in the nursery thread and was wondering how you go about that, as I thought getting a reserved slot from an artist was against the rules? Unless this is something different?
