nope^^ any pet will do^^

you can pay a VR, and it depends on the year, '12 or '13 will get you three slots, '11 or '10 will get you 4 slots, and '09 or '08 will get you all five^^

you didn't find any ponies, but in the crystal mountains you ran intoa kindly elemental. she faded befre you could catch her, but she left you with nine eggs^^
in cloudsdale you found four eggs about to fall over one of the rainbow falls and caught them^^
In MystArchan the ponies are still missing, but you whent into the library anyways to search. You thought you heard a voice, and you followed it. You found 6 eggs but there was no sign of the pony you had heard.

In canterlot you were able to get 8 eggs from a hat shop.
the crystal mountains didn't hold quite so much luck for you. a mischevious elemental decided to pelt you with snowballs. However, you find that 3 of them were actualy eggs!
you got a bit distracted by a warm sent comming from zecora's house. you stopped in, so you missed a chance to find a pony, but she gave you 9 eggs to make up for it^^
while in the town, a dark hair mare bumped into you as she ran out of the library. She gifted you 5 eggs tas a way to say sorry, then ran off^^
