I have to disagree with you here. Personally, I think raising slots at this point would be helpful - people could own their bean's children when they couldn't before due to the slot limit.
People would still put NBs UFA so nonowners have a chance, and I know many users choose to gift their babies mainly to nonowners.
As for slots, normal users have 5 slots and staff have 7.

Honestly, I think a lot of people would appreciate a slot increase.

Umm, my opinion probably isn't valid here since I only personally own one bean, aha, but I'd just like to say that I think the five bean rule is plenty. Five beans is already quiet a bit.I mean, of course, there are people who are going to want a raise. But it's hard to manage five beans and assure they all get the same amount of love. Especially without leaving one in the dark and picking favorites. And with a slot raise.. Well, that's just way too many beans to handle with without things getting rather chaotic, you know? Anyway, you may continue.. *cough*

I'm going to have to agree with this, even though I don't own a bean, I can still see where you're coming from. I also have to say that it may decrease chances for a non-owner, like Hiccup said. It isn't fair for non-owners who want to adopt their first bean and get their chances intervened by many other members who already own beans that might already have their original slots filled-no offense to any of you guys-. I think the five bean rule is fine, and that we shouldn't raise the slots any higher.

It varies from person to person, but in my eyes handling 5, 6, or even 7 characters and giving them equal amounts of "love" and development isn't too difficult at all. If people don't think they can handle that many characters, it's their responsibility to limit themselves, in my opinion. ( and let's be honest - most people pick a favorite or two out of their beans, it's normal )
Of course I have pretty strong opinions on this subject so if you'd like to continue, just PM me! ( this goes for anyone, really! )

EDIT- also I'd like to add that even if the slot limit is raised, it doesn't necessarily mean everyone is going to fill all 6 slots. even before JBDs closed, it wasn't as if people were maxing out their limits left and right.

edit 2 - Also, there's not a whole ton of users with full slots around. I doubt it'll be 'release the floodgates wash away the nonowners' if slots are raised.

Even though I think five is enough beans, as I said earlier, I need to say, not being able to give the different beans enough love has nothing to do with it.
Maybe if you had over ten beans you couldn't /constantly/ be paying attention to every single one, but beans are not easy to win, you try for ones you love and have to love them dearly and try hard to win. Especially with nb contests, which tend to be long form since they are run by individual users who want their bean's baby to go to the best user possible.

Yes, maybe the community doesn't really need a slot bump.. but whether users care for their beans enough is not significant enough for 6 or 7 bean limit.
Some people win a single bean, their one and only bean, say by luck or in an easier contest, and never once roleplay it, or post it's name again after winning it.
Some people have won extra slots, or are part of staff, and have many beans, which they care for and develop equally.
Whether people can give enough attention to the bean depends on the person, and if they can not, that is for the judge of their beans to decide, before they aware them a JBD.

I think that breeding limit is very fair Hiccup, especially of being so kind for 3rd gen to breed at least once because I own one that one day I do hope for him to have at least have one child but not rush it <3

But I am slightly confused on one thing, does this mean now that 1st gens can breed again? Is this officially established? Because there is a certain breeding couple that I know is ready for babies again XD

Gerbilfuzz, you've got a point there. Nursery could indeed pretty much close itself eventually. After 3rd gen, no more breedings? Just an idea.

I think this is a great idea. Non-owners could still get beans, beans could still go UFA, but after a point it would stop on its own. I think its a really good compromise to help keep everyone happy.

first gen: 4

3rd gen: 1

and that's the end.
No final thing, just throwing out ideas.
