To host a sima readoption myself do I need to ask staff before I start it, or simply update the archives with the transfer information when it is over? o:

The best thing to do would be to contact a Moderator or admin and the original artist, if you can get ahold of them.
^as stated in the rule you need approval. But after that then yes it would be like gifting once the contest it over.
