As a young kit Dreampaw had to suffer a hard life of venturing through the thick snow of leaf bare by her scruff from her mother's mouth, due to the prophecy of chamomile court's creation. A life started on a rough note but one that would force most cats to have a close with their mother, this didn't seem to have the same effect on our favorite apprentice. Once they arrived at their new home, the kit had already been weened and Dovewing left her daughter to take of her herself within the nursery so she could attend her leadership duties. Missing out on quality time which the average queen her kits share in the early moons of their life. The two didn't see each other besides around camp and when Dovewing came in out of their home on patrols and during clan meetings, Dovewing slept in her own nest from the garden pots while Dreampaw slept among st the warriors beneath the gazebo floor. The start of unhealthily relationship with distance between one another introduced early. Her apprentice ceremony felt like introducing any other random kit to Dovewing's clan, the emotion of love and protectiveness masked by the months spent living as strangers.

As her training progressed, things didn't change. Her mother and leader stayed distance with little participation in her life, Sticking to her role in the clan and only stepping in during training assessments like any other apprentice would receive. The young she-cat didn't get the chance to tell her mom about her day or training, the only updates of Dreampaw's well being came from her mentor. The lack of motherly love took a toll on her self confidence and made her wonder if she was good enough, striving to become the best warrior and put everything into her training in order to gain her mother's attention and praise. Hopefully when she receives her warrior name, she will be rewarded with her mother's love she's trained so hard for! [344 words]

Owlfeather grew up with both of his parents present. His father was a gentle soul - timid and soft spoken, never acted out for anything - while his mother was stern and strict, always ready to give her opinion whenever she deemed it necessary. Owlfeather’s mother was extremely biased towards strays and clan cats, and as a result shunned Owlfeather once he’d gone off to find his own clan. Owlfeather’s father, on the other hand, fully supported his son, and encouraged him (in secret) to follow his dreams. He taught Owlfeather to treat others with the utmost respect, despite what his mother had tried to enforce in his earlier years. Now, having joined up with Marigoldstar, Owlfeather calls her “the mother he’d always wanted,” as while she is somewhat stoic and cold, she’s still got a bigger heart than his biological mother. While he may annoy her sometimes, he knows that she’s got his back through thick and thin, no matter what.

Prompt: In the midst of leafbare, the clan cats seem to be bringing home a abundance of mice to their fellow warriors back at camp. Where has the rest of the fresh-kill gone? Hopefully with spring on the horizon, so well bigger meatier prey! Dreampaw seemed to luck out the other day by bringing home a squirrel, which are rare due to the lack of trees among st the territory ! I wonder if more squirrels with dash over the Pineclan border into our hungry mouths? Yum![ 85 words]

Prompt: Much to Lynxstar's chagrin a common prey item found in her mountain home is voles. The little buggers are all over the place and seemingly run off any and all other delectable prey. Unfortunately, if it's not voles Lynxstar is snacking on it's old scraps. She doesn't have much luck when it comes to finding good food. One of these days though she's going to get her paws on a nice, big, juicy rabbit. Lynxstar likes to imagine that they taste wonderful. Hopefully she won't be disappointed if she ever does find one. Prompt: While the forest of Treeclan is home to an abundant amount of woodland creatures like mice and birds, the prey that the cats love the most is rabbit. The thrill of the chase, feeling the grass beneath their paws, their teamwork phenomenal and flawless. The hunt is perhaps better than being able to eat the food, as they can work together as one, despite being different cats. The warriors' muscles get a nice workout, being able to sprint after the fast creatures, and the apprentices are able to see what the warriors look like when they work together.
