"Yes Ayame?"
"What are those stars with tails?"
The pup stared up at the sky, waiting for a glimmering light and its trail behind it to shine through the night. Ryuu smiled at the pup, focusing his gaze on his niece, "Ah yes. They are called shooting stars Ayame." "Why are they falling and not going up?" The purple pup asked, her tiny pink eyes following one. "What is up, must come down Ayame." Ryuu stated as he laid down.
"I want to find one and bring it back into the sky."
Ryuu smiled and chuckled at the pup's remark, "Whatever you wish to do Ayame."
"Uncle Ryuu, what's your wish?" Ayame asked, perking her ears and turning to her much larger relative. "Well, I've always wished to die fighting with all the other Warriors. Your mother will have to tell you the story of us finding home." Ryuu's gaze fell on the pup. Ayame turned her attention to the night sky once again as she spoke, "I wish to die under shooting stars. So I can take one back up into the night sky when I climb the star ladder to heaven."
"There is a way to wish on shooting stars Ayame, if that is what you'd like to do." Ryuu smiled at the pup as he watched Ayame's pink eyes light up and turn his way. "You say 'starlight, star bright. First star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might, have the wish I wish tonight.'" Ryuu paused as he noticed the pup reciting the sentence silently, grinning to himself and chuckling quietly. Ayame looked up at Ryuu after mouthing it one last time for the next instruction. "Then you wish as hard as you can about your wish."
Her ears folded back and her eyes closed as she wished as hard as she possibly could about the wish she had.
"Starlight, star bright. First shooting star we see tonight. I wish I may. I wish I might, have the wish I've wished for tonight."
