TRAITS, EDITS, & ACCESSORIESTRAITS
The major vents on the shoulders and haunches cannot change size, shape, or location. All minor vents can change shape and location as long as there is the same amount in the same vague location (i.e. minor vents on the face cannot be moved to the body).
All minor vents must be active unless a creature has the inactive vent trait, meaning their acid is not heated.
Bone formations may be any organic shape (custom lined) as long as they stay within the specific gene rules.

COLORS & MARKINGSACID COLORSAcid colors determine what color the vents, smoke, and tongue will be. These are almost always saturated. A creature may only have one acid color, unless they're hatched with the two tone or three tone mutation. White does not count as a tone, so up to three different colors and white may be found in the acid at the same time, if the genes permit it. A creature may have the two tone or three tone gene but only express one color.
The glow around the acid vents and the smoke must match the color of the vent. For example, you cant have a red vent and blue smoke coming out of it.

➥Solid black (no glow, no smoke. can't be paired with any other type of acid.)
MOUTH, CLAWS, & EYES
Off white and off black are free for all colors and can be used anywhere on the mouth, claws, and eyes.
MOUTH
The gums must be a desaturated version of the acid color, or they can be a non pure black.
The tongue can match the acid color (including two tone or three tone acid colors) or be a non pure black.
The teeth are a non pure black, none pure white, or matching with the claws.
CLAWS
Claws can be any color, as long as they are not pure white or pure black. All claws must be the same color. The claws can be two tone only if the creature has the two tone or three tone acid gene.
EYES
Eyes can be any color within the pallet of the creature. Not all eyes have to be the same color. However, eye color is inherited from the parents and can become out of the palette as the bloodline goes on.
MARKINGS
At least 20% of the base color must be showing. Markings cannot cover more than 80% of it.
Similar patterns and colors can be passed down from parents.
Markings do not cover vents or claws.
STANDARD
A creature can express any marking, as long as it is organic in nature. There cannot be inorganic shapes, such as stars, hearts, etc. The colors of the marking can be within the range of the same and lower rarity base colors and a desaturated versions of the acid color.
Markings can overlap.
UNIQUE
The unique rarity is lore breaking, so inorganic shapes such as hearts and stars are allowed.

BIOLOGYGLOSSARY
➥Shell: The "shell" is the skin of the creature. It's referred to as a shell because it's very hard, chitinous, and able to grow and break.
➥Vent: A vent is a port on the outside of the body that emits heat and fumes.
➥Minor vent: Minor vents are small and numerous.
➥Major vent: Major vents are larger than minor vents and are less common. All daighr have major vents on their shoulders and haunches, though they may be inactive.
➥Feelers: Feelers are the bulbs that are found on the back of or around the daighr's head. They're able to host more vents.
➥Juvenile: A bud or juvenile is a daighr that is not full grown.
GENERAL
LOCATION
Daighr live in almost complete darkness. They can be found in caverns, abandoned structures like ships and old buildings, and in the thickest forests.
GENDERS
There is no visible difference between biologically male and female daighr other than their size, with females generally being bigger. Their society is matriarchal, meaning that females are more likely to become leaders and be the most respected. Male alphas exist, but they're not as common as female alphas. Daighr can be non-binary or have an unknown gender.
DIET
Daighr are nocturnal predators that use stealth and darkness to stalk their prey. They can survive off of anything and are omnivorous. Their most common meals are insects, fish, and mosses, but they will hunt down large mammals when available.
SIZE
Alphas are larger than hunters, and biological females are larger than biological males. Biological females can grow to be the largest.
Daighr with unknown or non-binary gender classes can be within the full range of their respective status (hunter/alpha/etc).

LIFESPAN
The average lifespan of the species is nearly impossible to calculate, due to their presence on multiple planets and exclusiveness. The oldest one to grow up in captivity survived for roughly 46 Earth years. A juvenile becomes fully grown at 1 year.
OFFSPRING
Offspring are called juveniles and they hatch from eggs. Eggs can be found in clumps of 1-3 and are hidden among plant life and left by the parents. The parents play no role in raising their offspring, ensuring only the strongest survive and make it to the clan. The gender ratio of hatched daighr is 50f/50m, unless an alpha hatches. Alpha traits appear mostly on females, with the alpha gender ratio being 70f/30m.
ABILITIES
ACIDITY
Daighr carry highly potent pits of acid in their body. This acid can be spit from the mouth or expelled from vents. Their blood is also highly acidic, making them a very difficult creature to prey on.
The acid is usually heated up to extreme temperatures, making it smoke and form noxious fumes that can disable prey. Not all daighr have the ability to heat their acid, and the amount of heat that can be applied greatly varies from creature to creature. The daighr need vents to give away excess heat and fumes to prevent buildup from within their bodies. Too many inactive vents and or too few vents may shorten the lifespan of a daighr if their acid is heated to enough of a degree.
Hotter acid and the correct amount of vents makes for a more powerful daighr.
Daighr are immune to the fumes their species produces, making their large claws, teeth, and very hot acid their most potent weapons against each other.

ORGANIC ARMOR
The shell of a daighr is extremely difficult to penetrate. It protects the soft fragile organs, as well as resists the heat and strength of their acid. The shell can continue to grow, but the growth cannot be controlled. Sometimes the growth is beneficial, like in cases where it forms spikes on the tail and in useful spots. Other times, the daighr will have to try to bash the growths they don't want off on a wall or have another daighr remove it for them. This can be dangerous, but is worth it if the growth is proving to be harmful. Their shell isn't completely resistant to the acid of another daighr. Hotter acid is able to eat through the shell faster.
SENSES
Daighr are nocturnal, but some live in total darkness, making their eyesight not completely necessary. Depending on where the specific clan lives and the genetics of the parents, the daighr can have decent eyesight or be completely blind. Some are hatched completely without eyes. Ones that do have eyes have a thick membrane covering them so that it's harder for an enemy to disable their eyesight.
They're able to detect sounds and smells from a fair distance, but their strongest sense is their thermal sensing ability. Feelers enhance their ability to sense heat and movement of heat, but even those without feelers are still able to sense thermal properties through the rest of their body.
WEAKNESSES
Their biggest weakness is their active vents. Active vents provide an opening that others can breach if they can resist the acid.
POWER STRUCTURE
Daighr form clans and fall into a hierarchy within.
ALPHA
➥ The alpha is the "leader" of a clan. Alpha daighr are the most powerful and exhibit at least one alpha trait. Only one daighr in a clan may exhibit an alpha trait, making alphas rare. There cannot be two alphas, with the exception of the current alpha's offspring. Any other daighr with alpha traits will be outcast or euthanized. In the rare occasion that two are hatched at the same time, they are pitted against each other and the one to survive will be the one that is raised.
➥ Surviving alpha juveniles within the clan are the only kinds of offspring that will be taken care of by their parents or relatives.
➥ Some alpha juveniles survive being outcast and succeed in forming their own clan.
➥ When there is no alpha to take a deceased alpha's place, the clan disperses into groups. Some join with other clans (if they're not killed in the process) and others fall to the rank of outcast.
➥ An alpha may be challenged by lower ranking daighr. If the alpha loses, it is either killed or has its alpha traits removed forcibly. Losing alphas can choose to become outcasts or to live the rest of its life as the least respected member of the clan. Winning lower rank daighr takes the alpha traits as trophies and essentially becomes the alpha.
HUNTERS
➥ The bulk of a clan is made up of hunters. Hunters are all daighr able to fight and hunt. They rally behind the alpha in times of territorial struggle or when outside forces threaten the entirety of their clan.
➥ Hunters are left to fend for themselves. Sharing is not common, unless they are gifting something to the alpha.
OUTCAST
➥ Outcasts are daighr that don't belong to a clan and therefore have no social status. They need to move far away from clan territory, or they risk their lives.
➥ Outcasts are generally hostile to other outcasts, just like how clans are generally hostile to outcasts. However, small groups of them may form. An alpha outcast may form a clan with other outcasts, if they're willing to accept the alpha's power.
TAMED
➥ Tamed daighr are owned by other species and used as weapons. They're extremely difficult to tame, though. Great monarchs, generals, and leaders sometimes own them as pets as a display of power.
➥ They're in high demand to outlaws, hunters, and explorers.
➥ A tamed daighr may never assimilate with feral daighr. Once tamed, daighr can never become feral again.
➥ Any offspring of a tamed daighr is tame by default.

TERMS OF SERVICE
Every member that owns or sells a Daighr must abide by these terms.
SELLING, TRADING, AND GIFTING POLICY
➥ A character designed by me or part of my closed species may not be sold or traded for more than what it is worth.
➥ The price of the character increases if and only if art of value (commissions that you paid for) is added.
➥ Designs obtained for free have no value unless art of value is added (see above).
➥ Designs and art by me may not be used commercially. PM me if you are interested in a commercial license.
➥ When you sell, trade, or gift a Daighr, that Daighr is no longer yours and you cannot use it without permission of the new owner.
➥ I must be informed directly when ownership of a Daighr is transferred.
CREDITING POLICY
