"For display only" group trade setting

Hello everyone!

I would like to suggest that the site includes a "For display only" trade setting when you are creating pet groups.

I like that so many users want to share their pets with the community! We all should be proud of our collections and accomplishments, and there's nothing greater than getting to share that with other people.

I understand that with the current trade settings, psuedo "display only" groups can be frustrating for community members who rely on accurate trade settings for optimal trade offers. I also acknowledge the sentiment that people can simply look at a user's pet groups from their profile page, but I'm a big believer in options/choices, and I think it could be nice to have this type of feature if it's possible to include on the site.

The "For display" setting would allow members to show their pet groups in trade menus but prevent other members from adding pets in those groups to trade offers. "Add this pet" would not appear for any of the pets within the group and pets within that group would also not appear in the "pets in your wishlist" category. This group setting would also amend (For display only) to the group name, similar to how the "Only people who offer you pets from your wishlist" trade setting amends "Trading for wishlist pets or items".

My hope is that a feature like this would add a middle ground for the part of the community that wants to showcase their collections while also appeasing the folks who like to focus on trades. Showcasing and trading are both important aspects of Chicken Smoothie and I think we all want to help everyone achieve these goals.

no support. you can display your pets in forum posts or your signature. trading is for trading, not showing off your collection.

not a fan of this type of group being visible during trading at all tbh, but I think a display group that shows up on profile pages could be good! I would still find it irritating to see a group of untradeable pets while trading, even if the ability to offer on them was removed.

you can always use a scene and add it to your profile displaying pets if you'd like ! or in your signature

I get and see your point tho ! I understand wanting to show your fav pets but sadly I'd have to say no support, I agree a lot what the person above (chupacabra!) said about not being a fan of seeing pets you cant trade being visible while trading

No support. There are plenty of places to display your pets (Signatures, locked pet groups, dressups, scenes, the adoptable collections and clickables section of the forums) and trading isn't supposed to be and shouldn't be one of them. When I trade, I want to see the pets my partner is willing to trade and nothing else.

But I'd imagine there wouldn't be an option to click on the pets/something obvious that tells the person that the pets are on display!

On my own note- as annoying as it is when people make petty offers on display pets or ignore rules, some people genuinely just miss or forget that the pets are displayed. If it's getting too annoying that people keep offering on your display pets, just lock them and display them elsewhere.

You could also make a group with a random pet named something like "View through pets 4 dressups/displays!"

I support!! Everyone's making really good arguments but I'd also like to add my take to things
What if instead of the pets showing up when you look at what's on your wl they show up in the folders and the pets inside cannot be offered on and won't be moved to where they are visible for trade. The only way you would see them during "trading" would be if you choose to click on the specific display folder so there's less confusion and you won't accidently add a pet from there since there would be no option to! Sorry if the explanation is a bit choppy my brain has thoroughly melted from today but I still wanna share my thoughts ^^

not supporting this one; i think it's nice to share our collections with everyone, but the trading center is the one place where our not for trade pets shouldn't be available with our tradeables at all.

i understand we wouldn't be able to offer on that group, but not only did we already have to implement the trading permissions for this and a few other reasons, it wouldn't do anything useful in the end and would probably just turn someone with a good trade offer away. while i don't block and report people with visible "nft" pets and welcome committees, it immediately makes me give my offer to someone else. it's a cute idea and i love seeing someone's hard earned collection but i already don't like sifting through a bunch of names and triple checking what group a pet came from to trade for some wishlist pets i'm missing.

there is no need for display groups in trading. it takes up space, it serves no purpose to your trading partner, and you can very well make a small and cute little welcome with those same pets in your signature and trading rules. i like the current permissions that we have. don't fix what isn't broken.
