Man, this post seems to have turned be very long, so I will split it into sections;;
(Disclaimer: I am not trying to offend or cause issues in no way, this is just my personal opinions on why the game does not seem very active and some suggestions on how to improve it!) • Warnings for posts in the forums.Minimanta wrote:You know what I don't think have been talked about?
The totalitarian censorship that has been going on for years.
That has certainly made me a lot less active on the forums because I don't know what I'm allowed to say anymore... I've had warnings from staff because of in my eyes inoffensive stuff. And it's terrifying. I don't want to lose my account just because of something I wrote that I don't even think is bad. So I choose to don't write anything at all

And it's not just curse words. It's also just anything
slightly negative is a flat out no go on this site.
Nowadays I basically only write to praise the new pets and items and to trade for missing outcomes. Because I'm afraid to do anything else. (Even this post I'm not sure if it's okay to post)
And the argument that ~it's a kid friendly site~ is nonesense if you ask me. I don't disagree this site is for kids, I disagree that censorship and toxic positivity is good for kids... But that's another discussion for another place.
Completely agree with this! I used to be somewhat active on the forums before; but my vibe to even post died after one Dec 18th. The post I made on one of the discussion forums wasn't even mean or anything, I congratulated people who got rare pets from their box and just shared that I felt disappointed how for the X'd year in a row I didn't get anything good again; and I believe it was in no way offensive (inbefore this post also gets flagged for mentioning this again).
Like, I can't even share this and discuss it? I understand that they don't want the forums to be overflown with "wah wah I got nothing good, so unfair

" as it leads to negativity and begging, maybe? But still, I want to share it with people that understand - other players from CS.
I do think it's unhealthy for the kids too. Kids should have a safe space they can post in, even things that are like "well, this is not my favourite thing", and not worry that their post will get deleted because it might make other kids uncomfortable/unhappy. I strongly agree with enforcing rules, and making them more clear. Posts that straight up attack designs, events, or other people should be removed and warned; but sharing your opinions should be fine, even if it's not positive.

Chicken smoothie needs a hail mary. Whether it be a gacha system for the pound that funds the work behind the scenes(such as 5 USD for 5 pound "rolls" that give you 5 random pound pets or something in that vein) or even more thrilling events that bring something new to the table. The events are beautiful, don't get me wrong, but they're getting stale. Chicken smoothie needs stability, interest, and trend to bring back the booming community.
I'm sorry but this sounds very similar to a loot box. Gacha systems using real money is considered gambling in certain countries and is still up for debate in others. This is why Flight rising does not use gems in their raffles.
Something I would really like to see is multiple wishlists we can title. Right now, the one thing that's kind of putting me off from the site is a way to differentiate things on my wishlist. I have pets that I'm missing, hoard pets, pets I want true dates of, and store pets since I'm looking for extras. Maybe the same for items as well? I have a habit of wanting to feel organized and when things can't be organized, it ends up stressing me a bit. I shouldn't be stressed by a pet site, but my mess of a wishlist bothers me.
First, I would like to say that I LOVE LOVE the idea of multiple wishlists. I am tired of sending trades that are usually fair (common for common, for example) and the person on the other side cancelling by saying "no, this common you added is just a hoard pet, I ain't trading more than a omg so common for it cuz it is
just hoard pets, after all!" :eyeroll: Don't get me wrong, everyone is free to trade whatever they want for whatever they want, value is in the eye of the beholder, but having a Hoard Wishlist will make more sense and help for overall better trades. Let's take any random pet, for example - it's person A's dreamie, while person B has a hoard of them. Person A will clearly be more incentivized to overpay for it, while person B won't pay more than 100 C$ for it.
I have hoard pets too, but I still try to trade fairly for them. Most of my recent cancelled trades are because of that; and having a hoard wishlist would make this much better.
• Wishlist updateWhile we are at this topic, wouldn't it be cool for the wishlist to also show how much you have from a specific pet? Just a simple add-on, where it says "

You own this pet"; make it so it is like "

You own [number] of this pet".
That will make hoards and collections easier to organize if you know how much you have from this pet exactly; and who knows, you might even find that you have an accidental extra/event rare pet! Of course, that is just a small quality of life update that I believe can make people play more!
• An idea to add chances for people to get more omg so raresI got an idea when you mentioned "Gacha". Let's not make it 18th December only with C$, like some other people suggested - how about with a cooldown of 30 days? That way, even new people will have chances of rolling something good from it, and it won't be abused by people dumping all their rares in it at once.
Let's say you can dish in pets (like giving them in the pound, which deletes the pet) and C$ for "points". You can use 20 points for 1 random generated rare, very rare, or omg so rare pet. You can only submit pets that are "rare" and each is 1 point, very rares being 10, etc. (that is just an example). If it's only rares and above, users won't be incentivized to create multiple accounts to simply trade in hundreds of commons they just got by adopting the monthlies.
Making this "Gacha" once per month with a personal cooldown of 30 days means that people will come over and over again, for more than just the "adopt all on the 1st, forget the site till next month", like I personally do. I also believe that unifying all rare pets for the submission in that system under a similar points will be good for the overall value of specific pets with low demand, or at least "give" some demand to them just for being rare.
Of course, that doesn't mean people won't come once a month to adopt, and then a second time to "roll in the gacha" box with points when their cooldown is over; but at least it will make people play more to collect rares+ and C$ during the rest of the time, so that they know they have enough points for when the box resets.
What can be an issue with this is people accidentally submitting pets for points, and wanting to undo it. For this, I say make something like an "on-hold pound" - you add the pets in it, and they stay there for 2-3 days, and it asks you for confirmation if you are sure you want to submit them. That way, people will have time to pull out the pet if they change their mind.
Pros with this is: Giving demand to some low-demand rares, putting more "valuable" pets into circulation, giving newer players chances of getting good things without having to spend months up-trading (I've not seen up-trading work at all the past few years, but that's another theme), C$ sink for people that want to get the points asap (but not gambling because you can also submit pets you got for free for points, and pure C$ for people that are willing to buy it instead of waiting to trade for the rares to submit).
Cons are many, including the reduction of rares, getting a "bad" rare as a reward from trading in the points, exploiting events by making more accounts as event pets always end up rare (which is forbidden but people might be tempted), making the gap between uncommons and rares bigger. For the last part, maybe there can be a separate box with a 10 day cooldown that lets you submit any 20 uncommons for 1 random rare; 20 commons for 1 uncommon, 20 omg so commons for 1 common, etc.
There are many ways this can be changed and improved, and I'm open to any ideas or suggestions people might have about it, or even if you don't like this at all, it's fine! It's just an idea I had from reading the other suggestions here, which can help with the up-trading of pets.
Edit: Maybe "omg so rare/very rare" pets you get from these "gacha" boxes can even be un-tradeable; I dunno.
• Trading value after you took a breakFor this, I have no idea how it can be improved, but I sometimes send "unfair" trades unintentionally after having a small break from the game, because I am not aware that a rare is "rarer" than another rare from the same year, for example. A lot of people don't like editing or sending suggestions, so I wish there was a way to verify if a trade is generally fair or not; and to catch you up on the "updated" rarities without having to post in the "Is this a fair trade" thread. I don't want to offend people (or seem like I am scamming them) by sending them bad trades just because I didn't check the forums for a month or two; or to make them feel bad like I don't trust their trade by asking them to wait until I get a response from the forum. Of course, I can always spend time researching that specific pet's general value, but I wish there was an easier, more straightforward way.
• Final wordsIt makes me happy that CS is still active, unlike many other sites that started after CS and closed long ago, which I miss every now and then. I really hope CS doesn't die, there is something to it - something that makes me come back to it even after 14 years of playing it, even after I stopped visiting every other site/game.
