I am not sure if anyone else agrees but when I first started, rarities were, for the most part, equal and it did not matter other then if the other user wanted the pet. I dont know when the list came to be and the nons and ma's but when I started, what a decade ago? there was no numerical value to the pets. Collecting and trading became so much harder after nons and ma's became a way to value them. I am not good with words and I am not an educated player when it comes to those high value pets so if anyone wants to add anything, correct me, or reword my points feel free. if you wanted to trade for ANY very rare, you offered pets on that persons wislist that was another very rare or multiple rares. Now there are very rares people expect so much because they are a list pet. Give the UR bee as an example. That pet is valued higher than the lower demand OMGSR. I am not sure if this is an evolution due to users or admins but it has made it very hard since those higher demand pets are worth, typically, multiples of pets of the same rarity. causing you to lose valued pets just to get a single list pet. I was more forced to follow these values because then I wouldnt be able to get pets that I want if I gave up my valuable pet for a random same rarity pet. if you dont follow these values its easy to get stuck or even lose progress. I recently tried to get a very rare pet (it was a list pet, the appaloosa malk horse) however its not worth just any other very rare from the same year you know. It

I see a lot of people saying nothing is keeping them here for super long; people log in and check their stuff then don't stick around and I want to say: The little games Nick coded for this event (though they give no reward) are really cool! Adding games kinda like how Neopets has games and FR has games would be something that could help keep people active. I am not sure how to get incentive to play since Neopets offers submitting scores for points and FR lets you earn the free currency (treasure), but if anyone has any ideas feel free to build off this! Also shout out to Nick for even putting a game into the event that was cool of him!

Actually the rise in C$ pets and items has been kind of a hard hitter too so suddenly.

I personally rely on events for C$ store pets, and sometimes I know there's a price hike but if it becomes the new normal it already feels harder to keep enough C$ for anything but the month to month basis without buying more.

Maybe I should try to learn the sites art program, or participate in off-site program art honestly, I'd love to draw other people's characters and take on commissions, but the paint program here is overwhelming for me especially because it doesn't really feel mobile friendly.

FYI I cannot draw on oekaki to save my life, all my art is done on ibispaint. all that matters is that you are an artist whose work is regarded as "HQ" by at least one person with good value pets

i only get one comm every few days, and ive only gotten one VR from it, though keep in mind ive only done a handful
it just kind of feels crushing to know that you probably wont get many unless youre constantly bumping your comm thread
esp when i unknowingly broke the rules in my original one and got sent a kind of passive-aggressive message from staff (that also showed they were rooting through all of my social medias, which as a teenager, kind of makes me super damn uncomfortable) to the point where i stopped going on the site for a few days
the point is, i feel like getting rares arent as easy as you say it is. maybe for you, but not every artist, and esp considering a majority of people here arent artists, yk?

Sorry that's the case for you, I gave up on using my forum post because it was getting little to no traffic. I mostly gained from entering contests at first and mostly reaching out to people through PMs who had a LF ART forum post

With releasing more pound openings, if they have a pet shortage, they should give an incentive to donate all those pets that have been sitting there for ages. Whether it be like 1C$ for a few or you get items etc I think they could spare something.

i think they should switch the items in the item shops, theres so many permanent items, who wants those items who havent already gotten them? theres so many ppl wanting to be item artists, i feel like they can create new items for the store, or swap for older items.

I agree its irritating just looking at the same stuff for several months on end but then they could just be fair here and lower the prices on the big list item packs. 100C$ for pets 100C$ for an item set dumb it used to be less and I think quality over quantity is important but artists sometimes are trying to work on these items so it fits that particular pet or pets that need items I say pets with PPS need more items that fit and Malks should have some too!

Read some of the past few pages and 2¢ time ^-^ My biggest issue has been stated here, its the Impossibleness to complete a collection.

Hear me out. This is a collectors game. The goal shOuld be to...collect, and, realistically, complete a collection. But as stated here and in multiple similar threads...some pets are just...*impossible!*

I am not counting old store pets since they do not count to overall completion. I am talking about the old very rares, or OMG so rares. As stated, some go up to OVER several hundred real US dollars...and that's just...crazy? Like for Pokemon cards, yeah, that's realistic...

But this is a digital game, and mods have made it clear they want new players...so why advertise that once you join you'll never get these old pets and never have a complete collection? I'd ask "why even try"...Biggest fix is more Dec 18 boxes or more chances to get old pets. I've been here since 2012 and have often felt *hopeless* in getting some oldies, let alone some rares from 2019.

Basically...why have a collecting game...and make it impossible to collect? And ok, I could do art. I could do off site trading. But...why should this game *rely* on other sources to be playable to its full extent? Its like a mobile game that *requires* in-app purchases to play fully. It doesn't feel satisfying...

That's bout it, my biggest quirk with the game. I'm not leaving, but I do lose hope sometimes, especially outside of events when fodder is low. ANY fix to make the trading side more accessible would be so helpful T^T

honestly lost the person who said this, but considering the pound has almost near a MILLION pets, and they only release around 1k each opening? come on. im not mad, but.. come on lol.

i wasnt around for the pound event, but they should do one every year i feel like. the pound account has more than enough pets to give away 50k pets a year. also, YES, more pound openings, and less time waits.

they could also host more community driven giveaways/daily spins using pets the pound account has.

Maybe a HUGE pet flush every two years where they have a massive pound ( maybe half of the current stock ) where you can get as many pets as you want ( maybe 1 pet every few mins, like the giving tree in fur villa? )

more frequent / bigger pound openings is a great idea! and i'd love another 99k pound event or something similar (and maybe even one for the lost & found as well), i agree with ppl saying it can be difficult to get anything good from the pound with how quickly it empties and how infrequent the openings are.
