[Implemented] An option to disable messages "from your pet"

I am fully aware I can block the messages with the filter. Doesn't mean I can't still think the message is useless. The "You're supposed to feel bad" thought is...also not great? I'm trading this pet to someone who'll enjoy it more. I'm trading it to a friend. It's not gonna die. It's also a FAKE ANIMAL. The message is needlessly guilt tripping and wildly out of date and doesn't need to exist anymore. Even if you CAN filter it out. Support.

Hi, it's been a while and I've pivoted my opinion on this from "it's bad" to "actually I think it's gotten worse" so like.

Many will know a lot more that lately, many people irl that love and cherish their real life pets are starting to face the situation that they are needing to ask themselves if they need to give up their cherished companions, because they can no longer afford to care for themselves, let alone keep their pets healthy and happy, or be able to live in a place they're allowed to keep them, and the rhetoric that anyone that gives up a beloved pet is some horrible monster is detrimental not just to the animals themselves, who may be kept in less and less good conditions, but the entire family themselves that are trying to do best by their animals. at least a few shelters are advocating for change to this cultural judgement, but it feels like it'll take years at best before the stigma is even remotely alleviated and families (including children) don't carry that overwhelming guilt on top of the loss and devastation giving up a pet comes with.

and then you have pixels (in a trading game!) trying to guilt trip you into the same feeling (for just playing the game!), it feels not only cheap but honestly kind of insulting to people that have been through that trauma before or are facing it for the first time now.

I mean...can we just have a mute for all messages? I think I have 1000 in my inbox simply because I don't want to delete every single time there's a trade. I don't even see the pound pet trade messages because they're buried under all the trade messages 😬😅

support. i don't see why we even need to be guilt tripped for trading off a pet from the pound. what if you one day decide you simply just don't want it anymore? what if you misclicked? what if you grabbed the pet with the thought process that you can swap it for it's littermate? i had to let go of my cat after 20 years of having her under a year ago. i can't stand the pound message. even just seeing the 1 breaks me.

huge support. It's unnecessary and I don't even open them, they go straight into the trash honestly, so it's just a bit of an annoying waste of time for me to have to go delete them.

Support. I have autism and moral OCD which in tandem with the messages can lead to a huge guilt spiral after trading away a pet from the pound. It's to the point where I sometimes avoid trading older pets for fear that they were pound pets. It's a useless feature that only exists to make players feel bad and discourage one of the main points of the game.

The biggest support. I hate those dang messages. It makes me feel horrible for trading away a jpeg of an animal on a digital site. It's so useless and needlessly guilt trippy. Like bro, quit manipulating me you're a jpeg of a dog that does nothing

We have added the option to disable messages from your pound pets, you can check this setting in your trading settings!
