Could you imagine coming back to a site you spent hours upon hours on, collecting rare pets and animals, just to log in and notice all your pets are gone, or you account just doesn't exist anymore?

I feel like maybe, CS should have more re-release days? Maybe once every couple years some rarer pets get re-released? I know there's no chance that I'll ever be able to get the sitting warrior cats, but I think it'd be nice to see some rarer pets make a return in the form of, perhaps, a virtual "grab bag"? You adopt 2 and get 2 random, rare, older pets?

Actually that could be great! Increasing the rereleased pets and items a fair and healthy amount could be a nice boost that could also help to bring down the inflation of pets and items trade costs. Obviously nothing extravagant like 10 old pets a month, just something small to help give new and old players alike a better chance for something they want.

If its specific pets that are re-released however, it could be a problem. I used to play animal jam as a kid and they re-released old rare items and everyone was really upset cause people spent a long time getting those only for the value to drop to 0 in an instant. The only way for it to work out is if its completely random.

^^ i've seen people talk about this a lot in this thread and in others and the only arguments i see against it are that it would mess with demand and rarity-- but thats kind of the issue, no? that because of the system built and the fact these old pets have been so heavily guarded, people need more rereleases to make this website still feel like something that isnt just logging on once a month and then popping in a week every now and then for the events. idk. just my 2 cents

It's completely saddening! So many players will never be able to get that pet because of that person and then all the prices just go up. And don't even get me started on people that hoard the expensive pets to MAKE the price go up and extort people. That golden gacha dog was the bane of my existence for a long time

StaticTelly wrote:seeing people finally have the same views on me when it comes to trading feels so nice LOL i also just see a rare as a rare no matter what year it came from. no matter what year the omgsr is from there is still only 1 pet per 1000 people on the site.

i also dislike it when people hoard super rare pets.. it feels so.. idk how to put it :( . saddening? not sure. im bad at wording things..

i kind of really hope staff will listen. i love this site so much. i just wish older players would be nicer.

i do see the point on having older accounts have their pets be sent to the pound but if i was that player i would be so mad coming back and seeing all my pets i worked so hard on ages ago just gone without my consent. so its probably not the best idea.. but i see and understand the point

agree, even just releasing more/higher chance of better lists during december 18th would help a lot. not speaking on account of all the lists/omgsr pets sitting on dead accounts that havent been logged onto in over a decade. i feel like the staff could solve the trading economy, by simply doing more in december.

Personally, I think that those older accounts are a lost cause. Sure, a few of them may have a random deja vu moment and come back for a week or two. Maybe theyll trade some old pets to put them back into circulation, but they won't stay because of the problems everyone is already listing here. Even for a returning user, to see not much change and a dying community would not be a happy moment. If one logged on right now and saw this thread, would they stick around for the halloween event? I say release the old account pets.

People are always quitting whether it be personal reasons or something they dislike about the site. It's not going to be perfect or huge. It's an indie game and people need to remember that it isn't backed by a huge corporation so yes there is going to be growing pains and snags.

I feel like more engagement from staff is also needed. The instagram account is awesome, I’d love to see more like that.

I just saw someone reply to my post saying a live chat would be fun AND I AGREE SM!! that would actually be so cool to have a chat room

I disagree slightly but not about the sentiments behind this! just that the very low maintenance aspect of CS is something that I think is a vital part of the experience here; a lot of people who have jobs, families, etc still come back and log in just about every month because the participation costs tend to be so low.

if more activities were created I think they'd do best being things that only add personal flavor to the site, rather than require more account maintenance. I do like the idea of a live chat room, that'd be pretty cool, and would purely be a social thing rather than a game thing. another suggestion I've heard before that I really like is for staff to create a little "game room" or "arcade" where they can post the little minigames they've created for events (like "feed the camper," or that snake game from the internet event). that way there would be cute, CS-customized games on-site to play and people could do things like chat about highscores, without impacting the playability of other areas of the site.

Deciding to share as well on why I quit long ago.

1 reason I quit is because I also have dealt with rude people. Unfortunately I dont remember my experience probably because I wanted to forget about it in the first place because it mustve been really bad 😭 I do know someone was rude to me in dms once and I have my pms closed ever since. Ever since those experiences ive been too afraid to send trades to people and only like when people send trades to me. I know only some basics about values. Majorly just ask for advice in a cs discord server (Lovely people <3).

I only send trades to people a little, and even when I do im still afraid of a potential angry/rude message because I wasnt fair and didnt know that I was being unfair.

2nd reason was I was too obsessed and stressing about trading that it wasnt good for my mental health. I got burnt out.

3rd reason is friends stopped playing out of losing interest and I missed giving them gifts and I struggle with socializing so there probably would be no way of me making new friends. Im not too well at it and still working on it.

Im now playing again because I miss the events, joined a cs discord server that I enjoy so much the people are so sweet and the Owner is awesome. They make me love playing cs and I find myself enjoying cs again and recollecting pets. Even though I dont have friends on here anymore I still enjoy peacefully dressing up my pets, the events and getting sent trades instead of trading myself. I just wish wish there was more improvements on the site. Overall though I still like it.

The List is a hydra. Cut one head off, and more grow in its place. There was another List before Horror's that was criticized for all the same things. I think it was forcibly taken down my the staff because it was so harmful. You can still sometimes see people refer to "the old list" in their trade rules. Horror's list, I believe, was created to help new users know the demand of their pets, particularly December 18th re-releases, so they wouldn't get screwed over by unscrupulous users. But it had the same effect as the old list, in which it's opinions are treated like the Bible, and it does make it extremely difficult for users, especially newbies, to trade successfully.

And if we were to get rid of Horror's list, undoubtedly in a few years someone else will make a new one and the whole thing will happen again, for a third time

I actually kinda like having a list of what stuff is worth. It really helped me when I first joined because it meant I wasn't sending bad trades and actually knew what things were worth. I got blocked a lot when I first started trading and Horror's list really helped me figure out what to offer and stuff like that. Also, that list has saved me from getting scammed like 5 times now lol. I do agree with you though that the list shouldn't be treated as if it were gospel.
