let us block threads

Returning to this again as there are threads here that I really don't want to see (mainly in the General/Adult Discussion subforums) because of negative atmospheres, topics disruptive to my experience on the site, and views inappropriate to what I believe in.

I'm just here for pets and art, not existential or political conversations, and blocking threads is the easiest way to avoid seeing those things. My curiosity has proven damaging to me in the past so I'd rather just remove that temptation to click and read something that would anger/upset me. I do the same with users that bother me to see, so why not threads?
