WHY PEOPLE ARE QUITTING CS- A Discussion

okay really random idea time,,,

something to help fix (?) the cs economy a bit and boost new players

a little community contributed chest (??? not sure what it would called but,,) where players donate whatever amount of rare+ pets where some % could be donated to the pound and the rest % could be in the chest where at the end of every month (or 2 or 3 idk,,,,) players have the chance to adopt the pets

and to allow newer players a better chance of getting these, all donated pets get split 50/50 into 2 chests, 1 for regular players (donate a rare+, get a rare+) and one for players under 6 months or smth (no need to donate to get one)

that way people cant abuse it and it gives everyone a good chance of getting these pets, especially newbies (without getting trampled by older players lol)

that AND there would not be need for the staff to release new pets

if anyone sees flaws in this lmk HELP 😭😭

I really love the idea of this in theory <3 like it genuinely sounds like it could be so good. but I also worry that it might create a high amount of extra work for the mods/staff, since I could see players fake-creating new accounts to try to get a better chance at getting something from the box. :0c like if people thought they'd get really high-value pets by creating a fake new account, that might drastically impact the work staff had to do keeping those fake new accounts under control.

We need more in circulation. They've been hoarded or locked in accounts where people can't get them. Giving people a chance would be nice.

holding more staff hirings (since i know many many people really want to become ghs/global moderators/ etc, including myself) in order to moniter these fake accs and/or trades made that are suspicious will def help

I've just seen this thread and there are way too many pages to read through so apologies if this is redundant,

but I feel like it's entirely possible that a significant portion of the site's playerbase has simply outgrown the theming / content of this site (myself included) which is obviously natural, but not much is being done to advertise this site to replace these players with new ones...
I don't think this site is particularly easy to stumble upon, much less seek out for those interested in this type of content. In terms of PR, what few online reviews there are of CS seem to be overwhelmingly negative.

i agree about the advertising, the only way i found chickensmoothie was by looking up online pet simulators and finding a list on wikipedia. Thats been the only external thing about here that ive seen without specifically looking for it. Well other than the occasional profile/carrd link to here (which i normally find said profile/carrd from here anyways)

I do understand where you're coming from and I don't want to discount that feeling of frustration or discouragement, but this issue I believe is something the staff is very firm on, and any time I see it come up in the forums, users often just end up arguing in circles about it (usually polite circles, but circles nonetheless.) as much as I can understand why it would feel good to discuss this here, I don't know if it would be helpful or productive to bring this up again, maybe we can focus on new ideas or features instead.

And yet people do count them. I'm trying to get one of each pet, including store pets. It's not fair to make that call for everyone. But that's actually something that makes me feel worse about the site. As a completions you HAVE to have a reasonable way to complete all goals (minus tge unique items that is obvious. The store pets weren't randomly released or for an event. They were IF you were lucky enough to have found the site before they were already gone. Seems kind of meh. They already do re-releases so why not some system for them too?

i def think CS should be advertised more. i found out about it on sherlock software, when i was downloading software for use in the petz games. i also realized a little while ago that sherlock software is owned by nick.. which is interesting. but i dont know how i wouldve come across CS otherwise. none of my friends play it, and i havent ever really seen it anywhere else online apart from sometimes in peoples signatures in other websites. maybe a twitter account would help? im not entirely sure, and i know advertising can be expensive as well.

I really like this idea. There are several other websites I can think of with something like this, some sort of public giving tree where people can give & take from others. While this is different than your idea, i love the concept of it nonetheless.

I had an idea just now, what if the pound compensated you for the pets you donate, it would make more people inclined to donate to the pound, thoughts?
