I popped my suggestion of the Staff Instagram Takeovers into the Staff Discord and the one running it thinks it's a great idea so I'm talking with them rn and sharing ideas. I'll keep an eye out here about things that I could propose for the Instagram page as well.

a line has to be drawn somewhere to prevent it from getting worse and hating things that could cause issues.

A line can still be drawn that is reasonable. I should be able to say I hate something [truthfully or not] without having someone breathe down my back for it.
Especially if I'm not ranting. Ranting is an issue, yes. But why can't be people be allowed to hate something and just express it?
Would I be able to say "I hate traffic"?
What about "I hate lace"?
Or is that hate speech according to CS?
Because CS apparently groups ALL hate statements together.
It's poorly defined in the rules. Not only that but why limit people's freedom of expression?
I hate the area where I live. It's too hot.
Is that a hate statement? I genuinely don't know according to CS rules, because it's so vague.

Actually, i think these questions were answered when they changed the signature rules in 2015, you can see here...
So saying stuff like you hate traffic is totally fine (in your signature or not) as far as I know. There was an issue with people saying hateful stuff in their sigs, like anti-lgtb/religion, stuff like that... so that's why saying you hate more specific, targeted things isn't allowed. I think the rule is fine since it prevents stuff like this. I hope that makes sense .~.

Giant Squids are sweet, and i'm pretty sure that they have the real ultimate power. Cephalopods in general are pretty sweet, too.

I WOULD LOVE THAT

yk how in some relationships ppl r like "i love u so much that i hate u"? i think it's a similar sentiment hejfhjhKDJFJ not just outright disdain just like ... i love you but i am extremely disappointed in ur actions therefore i "hate" you (strong word)

it's also pretty common for people to say they hate something when they really deeply care about it. you can't hate something without a strong feeling attached ? that's literally just my take on it and i totally understand why u find it odd tho

I think spicing up the socials is a great idea! Thanks for pitching in. I also think it's great for 13+ CS users.

that’s completely valid!! i was just confused because some people sounded like they were being genuine about it, i completely understand saying it in an ironic way haha i just don’t think it’s fair to genuinely bash the site ykwim? there are things that need fixing but i don’t think it’s problematic enough to justify hatred or anything :) ppl who have had poor experiences with the staff etc are perfectly valid in their feelings tho that’s not to discredit anyone + i myself feel the staff has a lot of reform it has to do, i just don’t like to waste energy with negativity because it just makes me sad aha

I 100% understand this and agree that anti religion/race/lgtbq+ things are awful, without a doubt. But at the same time it feels disingenuous[?] to just ban saying "hate" anywhere. Why not just ban those obviously bad statements [and hate towards real people] instead of disallowing anyone to hate anything publicly?
In my opinion, I do not think it would be hard to monitor. Just report an account if you see something genuinely hateful, assuming it's about a group of people or a celebrity or whatnot.
Things like "I hate Daft Punk" [I love daft punk!] and "I hate gay people" [i am gay!] are clearly hate speech.
But hating inanimate objects/entities such as games, foods, or a brand of computers is valid. Hate might be a strong word but who am I to tell other people how to feel about things?
Because if that's the case, then it's safe to just lock all of the "does this annoy you"/"what is your biggest pet peeve" threads in fear of hurting someone, because I'm sure many things in those threads are thing that people on here do every day, or enjoy.
If they really want to stick with their guns on this rule, then staff needs to be diligent and enforce it equally.

This would be amazing! I would love more personal connections to the game with creating themes and color schemes that match to people's preferences and enjoyment of the game- similar to pokemon !

i would probably be more prone to quitting if the layout was significantly changed, there are bigger issues than the site layout being "outdated" or whatever. i personally love the somewhat outdated look of the site, however there are certainly improvements that could be made to some parts of it, but i would hate for the entire site to be modernized.

i think what might be better than changing the layout completely would be more board preferences!! i love the space one but i’d personally love a pink/valentines themed one!!

:o omg agree I'd go crazyyyyyyyy for a pink board theme, valentines or not... I've always wished for more board themes and we did get one with the new dark theme, but still...

A pastel pink board theme would be so amazing!!! A whole array of themes could be added, such as pastel themes (icy blue, pastel pink, etc.), animal themes (cats, dogs, butterflies, etc.), some more cool themes like the one I have in my signature (frozen/ice), cartoon themes, etc. In general, I think I would love a barbie color theme going on ^^
