it just needs updates. in many ways. I just want this site to get regular updates/improvements. not necessarily talking about content, I mean obviously there's new pets and events, but user interface. quality of life changes that make the site more useful and feel less 2008 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

also I agree that trading is broken lol

this forum updates quicker than i can read but if no one said it yet:
Artists don't get payed, I've tried submitting to become one and didn't make it but ive read the rules :P
Artists get compensated via c$. but its not specified how much and based on what they get it.

Honestly I'm scared to trade any of my older pets, not because I'm scared I won't have enough for MA or Non trades but because I'm scared once they're gone I'm not getting them back, or at least not without a lot more work. The fairness I got them before was already difficult not being a much older players and having a few breaks but now it feels impossible to achieve again.

I’ve been keeping up with this thread for a bit and I just want to put in a suggestion. Anyone can tell me if they like or hate the idea or if it would be too hard to implement.

Basically I have seen from a lot of people on a lot of threads that when their trades are canceled, they get rude messages and people being insanely mean.

I think it’s fine to reply for an accepted or suggested trade, but if you cancel maybe instead of the message box we should just have a drop down list with a few basic options that say things like-

🔘no thank you
🔘this is not fair to me, sorry
🔘I’m not interested in that, but thank you anyway

Just basic stuff that’s not opening the doors for people to be mean and unnecessarily rude and gross to other players.
Just call me Kyler, friends. Trans; he/him; adult

As someone who's been on only since 2020, I've found it very hard to make trades for pets. I'm genuinely scared to trade for slightly older pets because I'm afraid of making someone upset for "a low offer".

Yes I still very much enjoy trading monthly and event pets because most of the time it's just trading species for species. But I'm so terrified to make mistakes when trading for older pets and I just avoid getting "dreamies" all together.

I love CS, I've made so many friends here but I wish the trade economy would get more balanced.

glitter wrote:I dont know if something like this already exists but I think having a group that targets and gifts new players pets that are actually worth something may help? Obviously its not a long term solution but dispersing even just a few older rares in the hands of people that don't have anything may help restart the trading economy. This really just sounds like another dec 18th rr but since thats not going to happen maybe the players can do something instead of waiting on staff? idk

I've thought about this before and I think it's a really nice idea, but unfortunately since CS staff doesn't (and, maybe understandably, can't?) enforce any rules against "ninja trading," then it's very likely/possible that gifts of high value going into the hands of newbies will end up "ninja'd" away from them by older, "wealthier" players who know how to make it look like they're trading something fairly for it without actually doing so. not that newbies don't deserve those gifts of course! but making it a mass organized effort to give those gifts in the hopes of jumpstarting the trade economy might come with its own struggles.

No idea tbh

Simon wrote:To clear up any misconceptions, CS artist is a volunteer position to allow artists freedom to create when they are able/want to. There is no regular salary/wage, and therefore the position is considered unpaid. Artists receive compensation in C$ when their free pets and items are released. Store pets and items are subject to additional agreements and compensation.

I joined in 2008 and have been active/unactive on and off through the years.

I think the saddest thing is all the old players that will never log on again. On my friends list I have so many people who have these huge collections of pets (rares+) and the collection is just sitting there. It hasn't been active in years, like 10+ years.

I think if those pets were introduced into the pound system that a lot of players would have a lucky break with an old rare. I know it may seem unfair, but honestly these players will never log on again.

Idk, just my thoughts as I wish the people I used to play with were still here. But they're not
