Ch.1 A Birth

Postby Thani » Wed Oct 18, 2023 6:56 am

"Raised Voices and harsh words.
Tongues that cut deep, Tongues that hurt.
Apologies and Excuses, Attempts to recover.
And The watcher decided these were not the actions
Of people who were lovers."

- - -

Being the only medicine cat meant she would be doing this alone.
Or so she thought. Everyone loved Cauliflower, so when it came around the time for her kittens to be delivered the whole clan was there for her. Well, everyone but Tansy.
You see the night before they had gotten into a huge fight, nothing unusual for the two lovers, but this time the next morning Tansy was nowhere to be found.
Cries could be heard from inside the healers hut, as the Elder fig comforted Cauli in her moment in need.

"I just do not understand why she's not here."

- - -

The night before was harsh, the whole clan bearing witness to the two of them screaming at each other.
Tansy had come back home with a twisted paw unable to walk, unable to really do anything.
Sure she was capable, making a bigger deal out of her paw than she should have been. She had no idea the strain she was putting on Cauli, who was already in enough pain as she was bearing their children.

"You only care about yourself! What about me, what about them!? I told you to be more careful Tansy and you never listen to me!"

"You are selfish!"

"You are lazy!"

"You don't think about anyone but yourself!"

- - -

"She would never leave me like this, I know we fought but she loves me. Why isn't she here?"

Continuous sobs, frustrated cries.
And then a long lull of silence.
one....two....three.
Three little beans of fluff were now brought into this world, curled up immediately in their mothers tear stained fur.
The clan fell into a silence, all awaiting the moment when Fig finally emerged from the healers hut and smiled.
Everyone was immediately excited to see the kittens but Fig advised everyone to let Cauli have a moment alone with them for a bit.

She was still so torn up from tansy not being there, but looking down at her children....it brought her a sense of calm.
The calm that she needed to get through those next 20 minutes.

A flurry of panic rushed through the calmness of the camp, a giant basket clamped between teeth. A worried expression came face to face with Fig who gave them a disappointed look before allowing them to access the healers hut.

"Cauli! omg, Cauli...I am so sorry! I...omg..."
A panicked Tansy limped over and placed the basked by her lovers head before rushing to her side.

"I missed it...oh Cauli...you will never know how sorry I am...I thought I could make it back...I just...I wanted to get you something. I am so sorry about last night.." She apologized calmly, her voice laced with sadness.

Cauli had her head laying curled into herself as she shielded her kittens.
She wanted to just forgive Tansy and be happy in this grand moment but she couldn't bring herself to...she was so tired. Both emotionally and physically.

"Is it okay If I come over?" Tansy asked, kind of lingering near her lover and their kittens, wanting nothing more than to be near them all but knowing better than to do so without asking.

Cauli just nodded her head, sniffling as she finally looked up towards Tansy, her eyes red and puffy.
Tansy wasted no time and curled up with her, the kittens between them.
"I'll make it up to you...I promise...How are you feeling? Can I get you anything?"
Cauli just shook her head no and buried her face in Tansies fur.

It was then that a familiar scent caught Cauli's sense and she choked out a small laugh against Tansies fur.
"Did you...did you get me a radish?"

"I know how much you like them...." Tansy sighed, smiling a bit as she finally relaxed a little.
The basked that Tansy had brought in not only had Radishes but also several bright Pink flowers littered with softer pink hues. Long stalks of green herbs were woven between them into a bouquet of sorts and on either side two large, wild grown Radishes.

"I'm glad you are here now..."

"Me too."

Ch.2 The Life

Postby Thani » Thu Nov 02, 2023 7:38 am

Pushing, shoving, screaming
misunderstanding.
Hating.
...
...
...

No.
They didn't hate.
They were too young to truly hate.
...
...
...

but to make others hate themselves?
no one was young enough to do that

- - -

An adorable chocolate tabby kit sat at the end of the dock, head resting on the edge. His paw was draped over the side, swirling around gently in the water.
He was visibly upset. I mean of course he was, after the day he had? Who wouldn't be upset.

Three Other kittens who had been playing in the center of the village all day invited Thomas to play games with them suddenly on this day. Usually the other kittens excluded him or just simply ignored his presence but this day he supposed they were just being nice.
They were not being nice.

"What a weirdo! He can't even hear us to know how to play the game!"

"Who's idea was it to invite him? He's just gonna mess everything up!"

"Hey! hello!, Can you not hear me or are you just too stupid to understand?"

Thomas looked excited to be there until one of the other kittens threw the ball they were playing with at his head, then all bursting into laughter.
He laughed aswell, grabbing the ball and throwing it back at the kids, thinking this was some game to be had.

They didn't like that.

"Hey whats your problem! that hurt!" One of them said as Thomas just laughed, thinking it was just the game.
He then got shoved really hard onto the ground as he watched the others around him just give him a stink eye, grab the ball and walk off together.

- - -

The watcher had seen the whole thing take place as he made his usual rounds through the village. It didn't take him long to understand what was going on. After all he knew the feeling all too well....
So when he returned from the healer's hut and was making his way back to the forest he stopped by the docks to check up on Thomas.

His head lifted up as he saw someone approaching him and he went to leave, not wanting to be around anyone at the moment.
That was when he noticed who it was. He knew the watcher as someone who everyone talked about, he wasn't sure what they said...because he couldn't hear them. However, He knew enough that maybe he shouldn't go anywhere near him.
The watchercame over and placed his basket of herbs and things on the dock, placing a paw on Thomas before he was able to leave.
He looked a little shocked and frightened but glanced up towards him anyways.
He looked....sad?
Understanding?
He had an expression thomas hadn't really seen on anyone before besides his parents...

That was when the Watcher lifted his other paw towards his head and showed the scars that were once where his ears were.
oh...
he was like he was..?
Maybe not exactly like him but he could only assume that was the case, considering his missing ears and all....
The fear and shock was wiped from Thomas' face and replaced by a small smile before he nodded his head in understanding.
He then took his own paws and flattened his ears down to mimic The watchers missing ones.
The watcher nodded his own head then glanced down at his basket of herbs before slowly pushing it towards the kit.
Thomas looked into it to see a bunch of medicinal herbs and some fruit. Tucked underneath it all were a few very small cookies, probably baked by Fig, that looked really delicious.
Thomas glanced back up at the Watcher looking for permission before being given it in the form of a nod.
He dug his little paw into the basket and pulled one of the cookies out and devoured it so quickly, he left little crumbs all over his chest fur. It was as good as it looked!

Thomas then pointed to the watcher sternly then towards the dock and went to move towards the village, pointing and tapping his paws on the dock. The watcher tilted his head, confused at first before he sat down where he was on the dock.
Thomas looked pleased by this before tpaping it one more time then turning to run off towards the village.

The watcher waited..
and waited...
and waited....

Until finally he could spot a familiar little chocolate kit running towards him with a few things in his mouth.
Once he got to the dock he placed what was in his mouth on the ground, it was a little note that just had the words "Thank you for the cookie" on it.

Ch.3 Many Deaths

Postby Thani » Sun Nov 19, 2023 5:55 pm

Good always balanced out bad
Amazing times had to be paired with horrible times.
One without the other could never be, because you'd never have anything to compare it with.

Clan clan had its issues, like any other place sometimes things weren't always the best.
Peoeple fought, people argued, people hated, things went wrong, and sometimes simply things were just awful.
This was one of those times where things were awful.

No one knew what to expect, when the familiar forms of the clans warriors came through the mouth of the cave, towards the swampy lands that had become their new home not too long ago. A weak Grey cat was being held up by two others as they all struggled to make it back to the camp.
Whatever had happened on the outside those past couple of days had really taking their toll on them. They didn't know if she was going to even survive the night.

"We'll get you back Mallow, you are going to be fine! we are almost there!"
Mallow just grunted in response, struggling to keep her legs moving as she was mostly being held up by Tansy and Cauli.

Once they got back to camp, Mallow looked even weaker, barely holding onto life as she cried out for rough and tuff', who was nowehere to be found. She needed her companion by her side in what she assumed was her final moments.
Cauli got to work immediately as the clan surrounded the scene, doing what they could to help in this moment of panic.
It was a very long night.
And doing what she could, Cauliflower stabilized Mallow for the time, finally falling asleep in Tansy's fur as the sun just barely began creeping up welcoming a new dawn and a new day.

The clan was in shambles, they had not lost one of their own, at least not yet, and the mood surrounding the place was downright depressing. The whole clan was like a family, and everyone was worried sick for the health of Mallow.
Thomas was curled up nearby with a few others, his mate Bell and two friends, Fae and Squirrel
Just now all waking up for the day.

WIP

I didn't get to finish :c but basically----

The death of hatred
The death of Sadness
The death of excluding
The death of the stigma surrounding the Watcher.
