For future note- this image is actually a Fawn Ticked Tabby! Somali cats are all ticked, but what makes them hard to differentiate from reds is the fact their rufousing is super high! This baby is in fact not red (something that somali cats usually cannot be by typical breed standard) and instead is just Fawn (Diluted Cinnamon).

I totally understand if you're following breed standard for this, but I wanted to mention that breed standard doesn't prevent certain coats from existing, it only prevents them from competing for best of breed or conformation showing in the Cat Fancy world! Red somali certainly do exist, but they have significantly lower contrast and resemble cinnamon or fawn somali a lot. The best way to tell is from their very pink nose! (c: Stacym Somalis, Jane Rezin: red silver somali)

That red silver makes it super easy to tell them because of the contrast, but here's some more: red silver, silver tortie, chocolate tortie, red and white (c: Somali BAC), black, fawn, red, and blue (c: front range abyssinians and somalis), red, cream, cream silver (c: somalis co uk)
Unfortunately, cinnamons and reds were poorly categorized in show before testing was available so you need to find breeder pages, not rely on image search (my initial strategy LOL), cinnamon somali are called sorrel now to differentiate

I was only following specifically by the reference image provided and the breed provided! To be quite fair I have never seen a red Somali! I had to google image finder on that specific image since, while i could tell it wasn't blue or cream (mostly by the nose as it seems too brown to be blue but too dark to be cream), I wasn't sure which other coat it would be.

No problem, it's all just for the sake of knowledge n.n I know reds are pretty uncommon and with image search getting so much harder... it's difficult to find them!
