another half-step in the chain, woohoo! these pups won't go on to be the parents of the next link in the chain, but other than that it's business as usual here today! Tealea will get first pick of what pup they want to keep and the other two will stay with me until the end of the challenge and then I'll decide which stay with me versus which go out for adopt/sale! :3
ALSO CAN I JUST SAY tealea coloring in my color in of tealea lines??? i am positively STARSTRUCK,,, absolutely GOBSMACKED if you will!! thank you SO SO MUCH for participating in my 10 gen challenge! when I saw it was YOU i had to double check like FIVE TIMES before i could believe my eyes. I'm flattered you like my designs/work enough to participate in my silly lil 10 gen thing :'D im a big fan of your work so its just so surreal. and it's SO COOL to make adopts for you on your lines might I just say? that's so funky,,, anyway i really hope you like these guys!! this breeding challenged me quite a bit but!! i really did my best!!
- pup 1 - left - brownie bar - when I first saw these parents my first thought was to do the spotty gradient markings of parent B with the brown colors of parent A since they also have this kind of faux gradient thing going on with the circle markings on their back starting lighter and progressing darker! I think it turned out really cute-- but to add some more personality and flair I gave them ghost-shaped spots on their back, white toes and tail tip, and some cute freckles! I also gave them a little moon crystal on their leg, and tied the blue accent from parent B in more with it as their eye and crystal color-- I imagine it's also their pawpad color too but that's up to their owner!
pup 2 - middle - double trouble - I thought of going halfsies on a cerberus pup-- but then how does one do that? well with two heads and two tails, of course! this pup has more of a conjoined twin situation going on in my head, so I tried to make one head light colors and the other dark colors, drawing from parent B's 'hood' marking but using the darkest blue instead of white! this pup draws more from shapes from parent A's markings (specifically their head/shoulder/tail markings-- but with spotting from parent B on their back and legs/paws! I toned down the blue colors from parent B to better match with parent A's colors, and to make the unnatural color look a little more natural? (thinking like, Bluey's blue heelers? it's meant to look more blue than a real dog, but dull enough that it evokes that sentiment). I tried to mix the different kind of spots here too! I gave this pup the bat markings on their tail and some ghosties too, as well as crystals on their thigh-- though theirs are both stars with no moons. also it's up to the owner if the second head has horns too (tho I personally like to think it's just the lighter color head that does)
pup 3 - right - batty cerberus - this pup was the most challenging of the bunch, but i KNEW i had to try and work with both the browns AND the blues together on the base at some point-- so this is what i came up with! my spark of an idea here was that I could use parent A's shoulder marking and take three big spot shapes out of it to create a sort of bat-wing pattern! I thought it was a pretty neat lil idea anywho. this pup mixes both parent's palettes, using the browns and blacks from parent A and the blues and yellows from parent B. I drew on parent A for the shapes of the markings, and parent B for the style of them-- so the spots are more messy/sporadic compared to parent A's more methodical spotting pattern (though I did try to mix both here too). this pup has three heads, three sets of horns, and three extra eyes-- wowee! they're also the only pup who got the colored sclera from parent A! they also have parent B's leg crystals and chibi wings-- so I guess they got the edit jackpot xD
