I would love to know if today's snakes are meant to represent particular real life snake and cactus species! I love them all so much :D
what I think they are so far:
orange & black snek: copperhead(?) + prickley pear (Opuntia)
brown snek: diamondback rattlesnake + saguaro
black snek & white flowers: rat snake(?) + yucca!
striped snek & tree: coral snake(?) + joshua tree (technically in the yucca genus too)
black snek & red flowers: arizona black rattlesnake + maybe a cholla(?)
(also a few days late but I love the pronghorn and lizards so much! I love real life animals getting some appreciation!)

The copperhead doesn't live in the Southwest; it could be a sand snake (
Chilomeniscus). The black and brown snake looks a bit like an Eastern coachwhip although they don't live in the Southwest either (there ARE coachwhips in the Southwest but they look different).
