The Island of Riopten is a little-known island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. It is very beautiful; white sand, exotic birds...and most astonishing of all, extremely rare and odd turtles. These turtles have a variety of colours and markings, and are much more intelligent than their regular cousins. Unlike normal sea turtles, they only lay 3 eggs per litter, eggs that are not soft and tiny, but hard and smooth.

These Riopten Turtles make great companions and have no instinctive distrust of humans, often giving the very rare visitor a chance to take care of their eggs and young.

Turtle Variations

There are many different sorts of turtles your egg can grow into. Here is a guide to all of them. C:

Regular turtles: This is the most common type. There are two different shell types for these, smooth shells (most common) or "patch" shells (less common).
These turtles may sometimes have an item attached to their tails.

Winged turtles: These turtles are much less seen then the regular turtles. They have small wings, that sometimes only show themselves in the adult stages. A hatchling can have no wings, but grow them once it becomes an adult. Winged turtles usually have a wing marking on their egg as an indication of their type, but it may be hard to see.
When these turtles reproduce, usually one out of their three eggs grows wings.

PPS turtles: These turtles are stuck in their hatchling stage and will never grow to be an adult. PPS turtles can have wings. They can never reproduce, however.

Twins: Sometimes, one egg contains two turtles. Eggs like these usually have a design that is split down the middle. When the egg hatches, the twins come out. They both bear resemblances to each other, may it be in the same colour, an inverted design of the other twin, or even the same "theme" (night and day, etc.).

"Extinct" turtles: These turtles have traits that more recent turtles do not. This is due to a recent vegetation change in the Riopten Island. These turtle can reproduce, but their offspring will not have the same attributes, due to their different diet. These turtles are larger, can swim less well and have a big round shell that wraps around their body. (aka all the turtles before the lineart change. x3)

Breeding

You are allowed to breed your turtle with any turtle of the opposite gender, unless-
- You have no permission from the owner of the other turtle.
- The other turtle is a PPS.
- One (or both) of the turtles are not full grown.
Both owners must agree on the breeding or it will not happen.
Turtles lay 3 - 5 eggs per breeding.

Breeding costs 4 second gen dogs.
