History/Background/Other: My mother rubbed her head against mine as we said our final goodbye. Somehow, we knew we would never see each other again. She was being loaded into a big horse trailer, filled with other horses, making it cramped and crowded. We nickered in agony and despair. "Good bye, Mother." I said sadly. She squealed in pain of being taken away from her child. The trailer started. And then they left. They left with my mother and 4 other horses, and I thought how I would never see her again. Tears started rolling down my face. I thought about how I would never hear my mother say "I love you" or "Good night" anymore, never hugging her ever again, never feeling her, never hearing her ever ever ever again. I galloped all the way to the woods, thinking. When I stopped, I decided to be wild, never trust humans, and live on apple trees with the occasional nibble of grass here and there. When winter came, I was lonely. I decided to go to the mountains. I thought, "I might find herds there," and I was wrong. I wanted to live in a place with horses around. So I looked for what seemed like an eternity, and then a human came along. She said gently, "I will take care of you, my precious diamond," I was surprised, then confused. "My name is ChristianBear295, but you can call me CB." I was soothed by the voice. I came towards her and nickered. CB blew into my nostrils. (That is a trick for saying hello to a horse.) I was even more confused! "I am a horse gentler. Come. I will take you to my stable." CB smiled. I let her touch me. She led me to her stable. The stable was full, except there was only one stall left! I nickered hello to all of the horses. They all said hello back. I was, now, at the empty stall. When CB left, I settled in and knew that she is my new owner and best friend.
