Pet's ID Tag: 58
Name You'd Choose for It: Azizi Kosmas
Gender: Male
Reason You Want It: this character is so unique, right when I saw him i felt a connection, I would love to have him. I would get art of him, and definitely draw him myself, I've never seen another character like him, and I absolutely love him ^^
History/Background/Other:

The world I came from was burning with constant war. It’s the same world you humans live in now, 500 years later that is. I am a splice of the two most unlikely animals. I developed in a test tube, and grew in a tank until I was old enough breath air, and came into the world in mock birth. It all sounds like something from a science fiction movie right? This is your world, 500 years into the future. Right now, in fact in labs scattered all around the world scientists are discovering the secrets of gene splicing, impossible breeding. Experiments like me are used as weapons in the deadly wars that have taken control of the planet. Some call it Armageddon; others simply say that, the human race got what was coming to them. I expect that you’re wondering how I’m here right now talking to you if I won’t be created for another 500 years? I was sent back here from the future by my trainer. She knew they were about to set off a bomb, one that would destroy all life as we know it from the world, technology developed now is going towards the construction of this bomb. I’m going to have the construction stopped, for the sake of every human on the planet.
This is the story of the day I was sent here;

3:32 P.M.

I was squad commander, my team and I swooped through low cloud cover each clutching a grenade. I scanned the ocean through the quickly thinning mist and spotted our target, the weapons Arsenal of the enemy. I angled my wings and lead the squad to the area over the big steel freighter “ok!” I barked “you know the drill! My team, once you are directly over any weakened looking area in the top you drop your grenade! Got it?” “Got it!” they chorused back promptly. “Now!” Driller screeched, “My team! We fly south till we get to the enemy’s base camp! Once we’re there you drop the grenades on my command! Got it?” “Got it!” they replied. With that half of the squadron swept off southward in a flash of feathers. “Alright!” I hissed “let’s go!” I swept low skimming on the waves clutching the steel body of the grenade in my talons. “NOW!” I screeched back as I caught an updraft and sailed over the ship. I pulled the pin from the grenade and dropped it; it fell like a rock with the other 11 from my team. “REGROUP AT 3,000 FEET!” I screeched as an earsplitting explosion rumbled below us. I rose on a thermal to meet the rest of my team in the air, “good work!” I said with a hint of pride in my voice. “Now let’s go meet Driller’s team at the rendezvous point!” I said and swept off to the south.

6:48 P.M.

“was your mission a success Driller?” I called as we approached the cliff. “Yes sir!” he called as we landed, “we blew the roof off the place!” Driller cackled. I smirked in satisfaction as my team landed on the cliff top. “I wish I could see the looks on the faces of their ‘higher ups” when they see what we did!” Talon whistled. “Good job men!” I called to everyone. A disapproving cough came from behind me, “and women” I said with a sigh. “Thank you very much Song” I muttered mutinously as she walked around to stare me in the eyes. I pushed her to the side a little, “You know that you being on such a dangerous mission goes against all logic in my mind” I murmured. “You know,” she said “I obviously don’t care about logic in your mind” she murmured and flicked me with her tail. I rolled my eyes and walked to the head of the group, “ATTENTION!” I screeched. All heads in the crowd turned to look at me. “We need to report back to headquarters at 09:00! Get in your places and we’ll move out!" Everyone in the crowed stepped lightly into flight formation. I swooped up to the head of the group and off over the ocean with the rest of the squadron behind me in smooth formation.

8:24 P.M.

The first 2 hours of flight past undisturbed. But as we neared the still burning wreckage of the freighter the sound of wing beats came from the starboard side. “ATTACK!” someone screeched as we were hit by an enemy squadron of some thirty odd gryffons. The sky exploded in a blaze of feathers and talons I could barely tell who was who. I tackled an enemy gryf and clawed at their eyes and wings. With a screech they tore themselves away and aimed a vicious slash at my eyes. I was momentarily blinded by blood as I fell about 30 feet down in a daze. I heard an achingly familiar screech as I regained my height, I saw Song fall through the air with uselessly broken wings. I screeched with fury and flung myself on her attacker. I swiped blindly reveling in the feeling of his flesh tearing underneath my claws, with a gurgle of blood my enemy fell under my blows and splashed into the ocean. I swooped down and scanned closely at the blood-stained ocean for the body of my beloved. I felt the air shift as my friend shackle flew into place beside my right wing. “She’s gone” he murmured finally, “I saw her fall, there’s no way anyone could live through that” he said looking at me. I refused to meet his gaze, “no.” I hissed fury seething in my stomach. “I’m sorry” he murmured. “NO!” I screeched ignoring his cry I flew up high above him. Not only had I failed, leaving with 24 recruits and only coming back with a handful, but Song was not among the survivors.

11: 45 P.M.

As Me, Shackle, Talon, and Driller headed back towards HQ I didn’t say a single word. I was afraid if I opened my beak I wouldn’t be able to talk, and my team knew better than to say anything to me. The sun long since set by the time we landed in the air force hangar, I was composed and ready to face my own personal hell, I didn’t want to say out loud the Song was gone, it would make it too final, but I knew I had to. I reported back to the heads and listed off the names of all of the ones who weren’t coming back from this mission and reported the relative success of the bombing of the enemy’s weapons arsenal and base camp.

1:36 A.M.

As I lay on my mat that night I couldn’t help my mind drifting back to that scene. It tortured me to lay there with the scene repeating itself in my head like a scratched CD. A knock on the door interrupted my thoughts and my trainer stepped into the room. I looked at her for a moment and laid my head back on my feet, I didn’t want sympathy. “Kosmas, I need you to listen to me.” She said in an urgent whisper, her voice sounded unusually serious so I looked at her. “You need to go.” She said holding out a small band with flashing lights on it. “What?” I said astounded “You mean back in time? To when?!” She grimaced in a ‘shut up’ sort of way. “500 years in the past, When they started plans for the bomb”. “You know” I said in an uninterested voice “we bomb a lot of places, the U.S. has basically decided to try to nuke every other country on the planet” I said. She rolled her eyes again, “I’m being extremely serious here!” she hissed. “so am I” I muttered under my breath, she kept on, ignoring my comment. “This bomb is ready to detonate now; and I’m telling you what has to be done! This bomb is going to be dropped on Asia; it will kill everyone within a 3,000 mile radius! You need to go back and stop the planning of it! This could spell the end of the human race as we know it!” I glanced up at her “How” I hissed “do you propose we do that?” She smiled “Not we, you.” My eyes widened “what?! I’m a gryffon. Don’t you think I’ll be a tad conspicuous 500 years ago?” “That” she said “should be an easily solved issue, just stay hidden and go by a different name just in case”. I cocked my head confusedly, “Well!” she said exasperatedly “what do you think will happen when you just disappear along with one of the time travel bands? Of course they’re going to check! The computer records every time period visited! So yes, they will send agents to find you!” I cocked an eyebrow “why don’t you do it then?” “I can’t” she said “I have to stay here and try to stall the detonation!” “well, what about me? I coul-“ she interrupted me “no. they wouldn’t listen to you, the way they treat you is border line racist treatment even though you have human intelligence”. “fine,” I said holding out my foot for her to strap the band on “ I’ll do it, and I suppose my name will have to be…” I though for a moment when a memory entered my mind

*flashback*

Song sat down beside me and nuzzled my chin “I love you” she murmured. “I love you to” I churred softly. “Have you thought,” she began tentatively “about… kids?” She said and blushed. “Err, no…” I said a bit startled “what names do you like?” I asked softly. “Azizi” she said with a smile.

*end flashback*

I snapped out of my flashback “Azizi I’ll go by the name Azizi, no one will know me” She smiled and dialed in the date “good luck!” were the last words I heard as the world dissolved around me.

Driller: woodpecker and genet gryf
Talon: martial eagle and tiger gryf
Song: peacock and iromote cat gryf
Shackle: great blue heron and Mexican wolf gryf

I understand that by adopting this creature I take full responsibility for it.

Aaaand, for the massive addition to my form and in response to my asking if she'd like me to PM her the new parts:
Image
I'd like to go ahead and say that in the world that Azi is in, it is made up of mostly mythological creatures and gryphons are common occurrences. xP His band are not the only ones.

Pet's ID Tag: #58.
Image
Name You'd Choose for It: Azizi Kosmas; nicknames are Az and Azzi.
Gender: Male.
Reason You Want It: There are a few reasons- for one, I absolutely adore how 100% unique the character is- bird of paradise + deer?! xD That's cool beyond words. I also LOVE Pere David's deer, aka milu, so the fact that it's half of the gryphon is pretty cool. I have a ton of stories planned for him; I could write one from birth to the present if I had the time to devote to it before the next code drop, though I doubt I will. Kamaliah did, if I'm not mistaken, create him for a gryphon/mythological RP that us TDUers are trying to make, and when she first posted him offsite I was slightly in love with him then :3
Personality:
Azizi prefers to be among friends; he enjoys the comfort and security of what he considers to be his family and only when he is highly in need of alone time or has felt pushed or threatened by someone in the group will he leave to go off on his own. Well-liked but not arrogant, his gregarious behavior typically brings him to other's good sides. That being said, he is not overly bubbly or hyperactive and usually blends in fairly well, despite his initial "loud" entrances caused by his exceedingly bright feather coloration. Although he is not stupid, Azi isn't the brightest crayon in the box and relies more on innate instincts and common sense than actual knowledge. He is a near-constant worrier and is easily spooked, and his friends enjoy using this to their advantage during pranks. His drive for safety is not limited to himself, however, and he frequently pokes his nose into others' business simply to make sure that their lives are in order...for this reason, he's often called a busybody, though it's usually in jest. His friends know he only means well, especially Luma, whom he's known since he was just a fledgling.
He's not very secretive and tends to open up to friends quite easily despite his being soft-spoken and easily embarrassed. He acts more on his emotions than his logic. He has fairly nonchalant views towards hierarchy, and doesn't really care one way or another where he ranks, so long as he isn't ridiculed- or leading. Though he occasionally has powerful ideas, he isn't confident enough to put them into play and instead depends on others' views and opinions to help him. He cares a great deal about what those around him think, and also cares about his appearance (despite not having a preference of social standing)- Azizi keeps himself well-groomed and preens almost ritualistically.

Likes: He has a great affinity for water, and he enjoys singing. While being quiet in demeanor, he enjoys giving advice as well, as silly as it sounds.
Dislikes: He has not had any good run-ins with gryphons who have mammalian parts that are canine, so he tends to be far more wary of those. He prefers to not fly or be alone and night, and dislikes closed-in areas where lifting off would be difficult to maneuver. He doesn't get along well with brash, spur-of-the-moment types, although if they are someone he trusts he will go with the flow much more passively.

Theme song:
Bowl of Oranges- Bright Eyes.
History:
When it comes to gryphons, one would wonder exactly how the offspring's bird and mammal halves are decided, would they not? It's actually quite simple- a chick's feather-type is determined from the father, and his fur-type is determined from the mother. In addition, most bird-fronted gryphons are male, while the females are typically have bird hindquarters. So when the little blue and gray gryphitt hatched, his mother was instantly aware of his gender, despite the fact that he was featherless where feathers should have been. She named him Azizi Kosmas- which, roughly translated, means precious beauty, but was also a family name- and she raised him as best she could. He inherited the majority of his personality from his mother, rather than his father's flashiness, although outsiders often gasped over the beauty of his feathers or his ivory antlers once they grew.
He had a fairly normal childhood; under the watchful eye of his mother he grew quickly and without any faults. His father was not the most faithful of gryphons and was gone before the egg from which Azzi hatched was even laid, so doubtless he had several other unknown step-siblings. He ate mainly fruits or plants, and grew up spending a great deal of his time in the water, at least until his wings grew strong enough to lift his body into flight. It took several months until he became agile in the air, and that is how he met his first and closest friend, Luma.
It had been a strange day already; the marshland where he had been born and had since lived had become thin since the prior winter and the two had been forced to move. Together they flew to a valley over a ridge, and it hadn't been more than a few hours before he had wandered off, eager to explore (though this great drive for exploration did not survive once he matured)- and he happened across the smallest gryphon he had ever seen.
"Hey!" the squeaky voice snapped. Azizi had looked around, bewildered, before finally glancing down.
"Oh," he said simply. "I- I didn't see you there."
"Didn't see me?!" The little gryphon was obviously quite taken aback by his statement, and leapt into the air to hover in front of Az's face. "You almost stepped on me!"
"I didn't mean to, honest," he tilted his head to get a better look at her. "You are really small, you know."
"Really? I hadn't a clue." Without bothering to ask, she landed on Azizi's shoulders. "Anyway. Do you live 'round here? I'm Luma."
Craning around, he nodded solemnly. "We didn't used to. I'm Azizi, pleased to meet you, Luma."
She nodded before jumping off, flitting to and fro fast enough that it became hard for him to follow.
"You too. Since you live nearby I can show you around...there's a lot of nice gryphitts like us around, anyway."
With that, she was gone. "Bye!" he had called after her, but if she had replied he didn't hear. Still, she showed up a few days later, and from that point on the two became inseparable.
It was a good year after this that he officially "struck out" on his own- there were few sentiments between Az and his dam, though their relationship was never strained. He remains either on his own or with a tight-knit group of friends, though he is often the butt of playful jokes. The majority of these revolve around another gryphon named Vivierra, who happens to be similar to him in body type: red-tailed hawk and mule deer. The two grew up together but apart; their mothers would often converse, but Azizi was too embarrassed to actually strike up a conversation with her- not that he wasn't obvious anyway.

Story:
The antlered gryphon stood knee-deep in the murky water of the slough, water rolling off his ivory beak in thick beads. Every now and then he would sink it again into the moor before twisting back up sharply, a truss of thin reeds visible before they were swallowed. He had no qualms with the fenland where he chose to spend most of his time, though he had to be scrupulous with ascertaining that his wings and the plumes that ran beside his tail did not become submersed; even though the majority of his body was built for flight and trees, his milu tendencies bore him a great affinity for water and his elongated hooves could not proffer the almost feline sort of grace needed for a creature of his size to come to rest atop a branch at all.

Az glanced up suddenly, the quiet grinding motion of his beak interrupted. He tilted his head, dark eyes blinking slowly, before making a disconcerted noise- something between an anxious snort and a low squawk- and charging out of the water, tossing his antlers and beating his wings. He maintained a gait that was surprisingly nimble, and once he reached completely solid ground he turned back around and peered closely. Not blessed with the power of a good nose or good ears that his ungulate side normally possessed, he instead remained deathly quiet and stood completely still, heart thumping in his chest. "Show yourself!" the gryphon cried shrilly, stomping a hind hoof and clenching the cool sod with his talons. From the thick stand of peeling birch trees and low-lying bracken that were set before the marsh, nothing more than a tiny gryphon fluttered out; she seemed to be a mix of a honey possum and a sparrow and as she flitted past Az he could have sworn he heard the smallest ping of a laugh. "Luma!" he chided the little gryphon scornfully, though his relief was readily apparent. "Don't frighten me like that! And don't fly past my head; I could have turned too fast and hit you."

Luma was sitting on his shoulders; unlike Azizi all four of her limbs bore mammalian ends and her miniscule paws were gripping his azure fur-and-feathers tightly. "Don't even try and fool me, Azi," her voice was high-pitched enough that it had almost a buzzing after-tone. "Everyone knows you couldn't hurt a fly." Though this was not entirely true- his tines and talons were powerful when necessary- he disliked confrontation and would rather talk to de-escalate a situation than actually engage in a physical altercation. "Why are you out here, anyway?"

Cocking his head towards his friend, he hesitated before speaking, as if trying to recall exactly why he was in a somewhat lonesome spot despite the fact that the majority of his other comrades were no more than a few miles south. "I'm not entirely sure," he mused quietly, a smile curling along his beak. "The air here is almost too humid in the summer. I might as well head back now."
"Good," Luma chirped. "I was wanting to get back myself." She hopped forward before she took to the air, hovering several feet above Azizi's rack, her sparrow wings beating rapidly. The male's ascent was not nearly as delicate; he crouched and unfurled his own wings, flapping them heavily. With each clout to the wind he was obviously gaining the momentum to lift off; after a few moments he sprung forwards, legs tucked and neck outstretched to make him more aerodynamic. It always took a few minutes of effort for him to catch a thermal that would suffice for a relaxing glide- and he did so now. His "secondary" wings- the gauzy, lighter feathers that ran like webbing- ruffled sharply in the wind, and the dual tail feathers whipped like pennons behind him.

"Alright, Luma?" he called loudly over the roar of the wind in his ears. As was customary for the two, she didn't bother answering but instead wheeled in front of him, a silent 'yes'. It was impossible to communicate when they were in motion like this; his ears weren't strong enough to hear her voice and if he were to flap his wings anywhere close to her no doubt she would have been tossed away so forcefully that a collision with the ground would have been imminent. He enjoyed the quiet like this, though, and apart from glancing over to check Luma's position he focused on little more than the euphoria that came along with the feeling of being absolutely free.

They continued on like this for a few more minutes until, after gliding over a ridge, they were met by both the full force of the sun and the sight of their friends below. One in particular had the entirety of Azizi's attention. "Vivierra!" he chirped happily as he landed, a broad smile present across his cobalt features. "Has life been treating you decently?" Vivierra ruffled her feathers, obviously flustered, but smiled sweetly at Azizi and nodded.
"Yes, thank you, Azizi." Snickers erupted from behind her. Saying that his affection was not well-hidden and was common knowledge would possibly be the understatement of the century; though he had not outrightly "courted" the female gryphon he greeted her before the others and would offer to accompany her home nearly every night- and Vivierra was teased relentlessly about his behavior. At her words, he seemed to swell, and was fairly beaming- and it took one of their friends noticing the look for the entire group to break out into laughter.
"What?" Az was frowning, his eyes wide as he glanced around the group. From her perch on his shoulder, even Luma was giggling.
"Try a little harder, Azzi." Bartholomew was a gryphon that was an avian-based rough-legged buzzard and mammalian-based fishing cat, and was bearing an enormous grin and trying his hardest to suppress another bout of laughter. The milu-mix flashed a watery smile and made a noise that seemed like a verbal wince before moving forward towards the opposite end of the group- a place where he was both far from Vivierra but also able to gaze at her fondly without necessarily being noticed. He enjoyed Bartholomew's company, but there were times when his antics weren't fun- typical carnivore, of course. Herbivores and omnivores seemed much less eager to put the spotlight on someone else. Out of the corner of his eye he watched Viv, and he could have sworn he saw her glancing back- but he quickly shifted his attention back to the stoat-gryphon in front of him, who had been talking to Luma (who was, of course, at her usual perch atop his feathered shoulders).
"What do you think I should do, Azzi?"
"Sorry...what?"

He still wasn't listening- out of the corner of his eye there was a dark movement, a shadow in the trees, and then a glint of silver. He shifted uncomfortably, completely forgetting about Luma and Tobias, and turned in order to better see the perceived danger. In that moment, the silver was gone from the bracken and streaming through the air with a whistle; the next few moments were little more than a blur. From behind him came an anguished cry and he whirled to see the shaft of an arrow protruding from Tobias' thigh, the fletching still quivering and the surrounding fur already darkening with a sickening rapidity.

The gryphons were a mass of terror, fear churning as quickly as their limbs and wings. From the treeline the hunters advanced menacingly, most bearing recurved bows but others holding nets between their outstretched arms. "Scatter!" came a baritone bellow from somewhere to his left, but many of the animals were too panicked to move and the men before them were nocking new arrows. A wildcat snarl flared suddenly and from the middle of the ground a large puma-Phillipine eagle female leapt forward, her fore-talons raking against the chest of a bow-bearer and her jaws ravaging his cruel face- and it caused such a reaction that Azizi was motionless for several moments. He swung his head this way and that, and all around him beaks or maws were opening into snarls and humans were raising thick sticks or brandishing knives. To his left, Tobias had been pushed into a corner but was defending himself despite his wounded leg, infuriated curses tumbling from his beak; on his right, the puma-eagle- Arvid- was striking great blows to whatever she could reach. In his heart of hearts, Azizi wished to do nothing more than to abandon the area completely, but it was as this thought was crossing his mind that reality finally struck in the most literal of ways. The club came down with a crack over the gryphon's shoulders, and he crumpled to the ground.
"Az!" Luma was fairly screaming into his ear. "Azizi, get up! Get up!" She streamlined up, just in time to avoid the calloused hands of the human. Azizi laid there for a moment more-

The pain in my shoulders came as heavy throbs and although I doubt I was bleeding I felt a spreading of warmth. I was not unconscious, though blackness threatened me, but I remained deathly still, feigning an injury far greater than I had actually received. The monster grabbed a thick rope from seemingly thin air and moved towards me, as if he meant to bind my beak, or worse, my wings. The very moment that I knew he would not be out of reach I exploded upwards, my ivory antlers catching him in the chest and my wings beating so furiously that he was almost knocked backwards.

He reared up sharply, talons pummeling the man until he was covered in blood and laying on the ground. Around him, other gryphons were captured in nets or motionless, their eyes open and their mouths or beaks half-opened, as if they were still wrought with pain after death. Still, many of them were still alive, and with adrenaline overriding the intense bruising of his shoulders, he scrambled forward.
"Luma!" he yelled over the furor, ducking to avoid a horizontal swing of a bow. From the midst of the turmoil, he saw her little form arc before him and he followed, giving a startled cry and almost stopping completely as he tore past Bartholomew's bloody body.

And then I was forced to stop. Two men were before me, and I could sense another behind- they were as low on breath as I was. We watched each other, but they forced me to keep pivoting in order to keep all three in my sights. I lowered my antlers and bucked, my back hooves connecting heavily with something, though my tines missed.

Azizi nearly tripped over himself as he took anxious steps backwards, his eyes wide with fear. The bowl of the valley reeked of it. Arvid's stubborn growl- followed by surprised cries from the hunters- echoed from somewhere nearby, but it was the helpless squall of Vivierra that shook him into action. Without another thought he lunged forwards, swinging his antlers to and fro viciously. The pair of hunters fell back, and as he past them he slewed and delivered a mighty kick to the back of the first man's head- he dropped instantly. "Vivierra!" Azizi called, looking around wildly for any sign of the female. The answer came not as his name, or even a word, but as an absolute scream, the bone-chilling sort that only a bird of prey could inflict.

She was driving her adversary back and was moving so quickly that I could barely keep track of just where she was. I was nearly blown aside by Arvid- in all honesty, I thought her last growl was her last futile effort- before she fell on the hunter, knocking his knife from his hand and opening a wound in his shoulder. Vivierra seized the moment and darted around them, her pronging gait carrying her towards me in great bounds. We stared at each other, breathless, until a brusque, cursing voice from behind us cut through our stunned silence.
"Tobias!" I whirled to face him, my voice laced with disbelief. He limped towards me and I noted the still-embedded arrow with a wince."Can you fly?"
"Yes. My landing may be a bit off, though."

The trio had somehow managed to end up near the brush, and away from the center, though they could see the bodies, both dead and alive, of their friends from where they were standing. Those that were too big to be stuffed into sacks were pinned down with thick nets. Many of them were hog-tied; Azizi noted with a heavy heart that one of his dearest friends was the first to be dragged away. Feathers littered the ground, and as he outstretched his own wings the deer-gryphon felt several thin spots. Still, the hunters did not go without casualties- at least half of their band had fallen; some were wounded, though most were dead.

They hid there in the trees, watching as their friends were taken one-by-one, although Azizi's thoughts were on Luma. She wasn't among the ones captured, but he could not see her either- something that worried him to the point of a deep anxiety. "Has anyone seen Luma?" He asked at last. Tobias looked up from licking his wound- he had snapped the shaft off closer to his shoulder a few minutes before- and shook his head sadly, but Vivierra nodded. "She had flown past me into the woods earlier. I'm sure she'll find us later." As if on cue, a stick snapped from what sounded like a few feet before them, and the three gryphons huddled together, Vivierra and Azizi instinctively moving in front of their wounded companion. Az stomped a hind hoof and drew up as tall as he could make himself, though the intimidation factor was a bit off for such a creature. His avian-half- nor his mammalian-half, for that matter- was not one that struck fear into courageous hearts.
"Relax." Came the familiar voice. Arvid's tawny frame padded towards them, her tail lashing side to side and tiny Luma clinging to her neck.
"Luma!" The elfin gryphon flitted to her spot on Azizi and he seemed to relax instantly. The quintet stood in silence for a few moments, not looking at each other or even anything in particular.

It as Arvid who broke the quiet.
"We should go. We need to find someplace high to rest. Tomorrow we can look for the others." The image of Bartholomew's broken body flashed through Azizi's mind's eye and a wave of utter hopelessness washed over him. It would have only been by pure luck that others in their group made it out alive. Granted, there were hundreds, possibly thousands, of other gryphons, but they tended to form clusters of close companions, and when one was put through such devastation it was unlikely that the remaining members would assimilate into another group. Azzi had grown up around these gryphons, or in the very least had known them for quite some time..and now, for all he knew, they could be down to only five.

Arvid was the unspoken leader, and so when she told me to remain in the back of our greatly-reduced formation to keep an eye on wounded Tobias and the other females, I had no reason to not comply. And so I took off last, wheeling up behind the rest. I don't even know if Arvid had an inkling of where we were going, but we followed her anyway. What else could we do? Tobias' injured shoulder looked as if it had stopped bleeding, but even in flight he favored the leg, tucking his paw closer than his chest than normal. While flying usually had a calming effect on me, now it seemed we might be flying for our lives; we were forced to fly high and fast, and our energy was quickly running low- as was our morale.

At the front of the line, Arvid banked suddenly and began a slow dive; we followed. She alighted as graceful as any feline on an almost-hidden ledge of a cavern, and motioned with a fore-talon for Vivierra and the others to continue on inside. Tobias in particular looked exhausted, and as he faltered with nearly every step a great sense of fear for his well-being gripped me tightly. I was, of course, the last to land, and I began to cross Arvid's path she stopped me.
"Azizi Kosmas."
"Yes, Arvid?" Others didn't usually use my full first name, and hearing my last was even stranger.
"Tomorrow morning, you and I must cross the skies. If survivors see us, they should be able to find where we are."
"Okay."
"Do you trust me, Azizi?"
"Yes."
"Good."
She glanced up, frowning at the quickly-darkening sky. "Tomorrow night, we are going to find the hunters. And we are going to get the others back." With that, she turned and simply stalked into the yawning mouth of the cave. I stood motionless, in shock. In distress. Yet there had been such resolve in her voice...perhaps she knew something about the hunters that I did not.

TO BE CONTINUED...

I understand that by adopting this creature I take full responsibility for it.
Of course! He'll have his own page on my character thread at The Zoo, and I'll probably use him on a gryphon-based RP. And of course, I'll get art of him. The last character I adopted from the Agency got art from Harlequinduck, and the one I adopted from TaN got art as well, from Compumon.

Hey Tae, I was wondering if you had any heads-up about when your friend will start the audition for Peppermint and Pumpkin? Just so I know when I should have mine finished by.

Ahem... question. Since the character that I wanted to adopt was already adopted before I posted the form to adopt it, does that mean that I can't post another form to adopt a different character until after the next code drop? :?

Greetings. Toad's the name, and sarcasm is my game. (You may call me Toad.) I am a fan of knitting and most (if not all) varieties of pie. I like pretending I'm cooler than I actually am and acting like a fool. I am the most serious person you will ever meet.

Seriously.
