What is a taken tag (commonly asked question)

a taken tag is a little sign posted above your horse that says he is taken to ensure that others will not attempt to adopt your horse.
as there is still some confusion i feel that i should mention that if the taken tag is off, it doesn't mean people can adopt your horse. whether the tag is on or off, nobody can have your horse. the tag just ensures that nobody will ask for them.
