Brackenthorn, with a bundle of messily put together weed flowers, is rushing through ValleyClan territory to attend the half-moon medicine cat gathering. He's usually punctual, although this time, he was a bit held up with glower gathering. You see, the medicine cat of one of the neighboring clans, Basilnose, just so happens to be Brackenthorn's little crush. Yes, medicine cats shouldn't have mates, and yes, cats from two different clans can't be mates, but there's no harm in a few flowers, right?

Just before he arrived, he quickly lapped over his ruffled fur to give himself some presentability. With pink cheeks, he'd enter the meeting area and sheepishly set his flowers in front of Basilnose. Her smile alone left him giddy for the entirity of the meeting, as well as the rest of the night. He found himself anticipating the next half-moon meeting almost immediately after the first ended. He was determined to collect twice as many flowers next time!

Junebug is on her way to her favorite place on earth: the little corner of camp she's converted into an herb garden! There's a nasty storm blowing in, and she'd much rather gather the poppies before the wind scatters the seeds she worked so hard to cultivate.

In The Wake Of Giants makes their home in a forest with rich soil and plentiful rainfall, precisely the sort of place plants go gaga for. Junebug, raised on the outskirts of two-leg territory, had the bright idea of setting up what they called a 'garden'. Fogwatch, largest and strongest of the clan's cats, helped her move rocks and clear underbrush. (And wasn't that a project- some of those stones were near as big as Fogwatch himself!) Ivystar and Bug worked together to mix and aerate the soil, removing smaller stones and other detritus in the process. Owlflight and Flicker, his avian companion, sourced shoots and seeds from every far-flung corner of the territory. Planting itself turned into a party, with every member of the clan trying their paw at pushing seeds into the soil.

(Seeing the first few glints of green appear in her little garden nearly brought Bug to tears. Sure, she was surrounded on all sides by greenery, but these precious little shoots were hers. They were living proof that she'd made this strange hollow in the hills above the ocean a home.)

Most of the herbs in Bug's garden are medicinal, healers' staples that Owlflight can never have enough of. But the lupine, and the alpine lilies, and trilliums taller than she is? Those are there just to make the clan smile.

It's a task they succeed at brilliantly.
