What do they feel nostalgic about?
In a secluded and distant valley, the ghost of a young kalon haunted an
abandoned house. He had been a farmer in life, and spent his days tending
the land and caring for the livestock.
He wanted to have purpose again.

He felt profound nostalgia for the beautiful rivers that used to wind through
the fields, the warmth of the sun on his face, and the trees that filled the
sky with lush foliage. He remembered the grasses where he'd lie in the suns
warmth, watching the clouds drift by.
He wanted to see and feel the sun warm his fur again.

He remembered the moments spent with his beloved family, and the joy of
watching his younger siblings play in the meadows while he watched. He
longed for those moments of pure happiness, when he and his friends
would laugh in the moonlight around a fire.
He wanted to feel his heart beat again.

He remembered the smell of fresh-cut hay, the feel of the soil between his
paws as he worked the fields, and the taste of the ripe fruits and
vegetables that he harvested. He thought of the aromas of cooking that
filled the kitchen, and of the laughter that rang out from the living room.
He wanted to be able to feel again.

The ghost's nostalgia was bittersweet and tinged with sadness. He yearned
for those days of his life, but also for something he could never have
again - the warmth of a loved ones embrace.

Now his days are spent unable to interact with the world. The only things
he sees are his memories in his consciousness. A soul roaming the world,
looking for it's next destination. It seems his was a wolf.

On the mortal plain, all that remain of those lost are phantasmagoria.

What do they feel nostalgic about? this guy always feels so nostalgic on the first snow of the year. where he's from, snow falls as early as september some years, so he's always been used to an early winter. every time it snows for the first time that year, he goes outside and sits on the grass as the flakes fall around him, breathing in the cold air and enjoying his favorite weather.
Bonus question: his favorite thing to drink anything out of is a specific mug that says "best dad ever" in big letters on the front. this mug is comically large.
