Something is happening to betta fish around the world! They are sprouting legs! With these new found features they are escaping their enclosures to find a new home. Many have theorized that faeries are responsible for this sudden phenomenon; some believing they sneak into homes and stores in the night to help their fishy friends. Now, Faettas have been spotted wandering from puddle to puddle in search of a better life.

Faettas are magical creatures created by faeries. Many faettas used to be normal betta fish in a small cold container, dreaming of a place where they could stretch their fins out and swim happily. Although they are magical creatures they possess no magical abilities. They look similar to newts but still need water to survive. They can walk on dry land in increments, as long as they find a body of water to rehydrate in.
Due to the effects of faerie magic faettas are much more calmer and social than normal bettas. They can live by themselves or with a group of faettas. In a group dynamic, there is one appointed matriarch or patriarch who leads the troop. They court each other by dancing, similar to some birds of paradise.
I've made these before but they looked much different. This is a passion project and I'm so happy to share it with everyone.
I will be looking for artists at some point but no other kind of positions will open. I will be running most things to keep it simple!
I love bettas and I want to help promote proper care of them with the help of faettas. A big issue that stores want you to believe is that bettas are beginner fish that can survive in small tanks or even vases but this is untrue. I suggest looking up proper betta care if you are interested but one fact that I think is most important is that betta fish need AT LEAST 5 gallons of water to live happily.
