“Eye of Cosmos”
In my blindness I seek
a knowledge I do not hold
Hidden worlds are blurred away into wistful ash;
stars against stark indigo
Wishing upon a star
to release my protectiveness
so maybe I can feel safe
from what I cannot perceive.
If ignorance is bliss,
why is there perpetual misery?
I’ve had visions of animals
resting their foreheads to mine
an awakening glimmer of a calling inside
to fly toward what I cannot see
yet it’s everything I feel
in the opening of third eye
A soaring crow spans the horizon
as I look up to meet
onyx feathers spiraling down,
down,
down,
to face me.
Eyes glowing like embers
bearing deep into my soul
croaking a carefully curated message
that it’s time to let go.
It lands on my crown,
to bow down to my face
and their beak pecks into my gums
to swallow away my decay
In my blindness I seek
a knowledge I do not hold
Bursting stars expand into universes
where we learn to surrender to the unknown
In my blindness I seek
a knowledge I do not hold
Hidden worlds are blurred away into wistful ash;
stars against stark indigo
Wishing upon a star

so maybe I can feel safe
