wait, where did these guys come from, you ask? well, they're a government-created
species believed to be made to assist the normal bees in pollinating earth's plants.
we've been calling them "bumbleberries." they are simple creatures that pollinate
by day and are quiet sleepers by night- though it is not unusual for bumbleberries
to enjoy other things such as snuggling with their owner or frolicking on windowsills.

though they can survive independently in the wild, research has shown that bumbles
that have an owner to return to each evening are happier and can live longer as well.

if you would like to take a bumbleberry in, feel free to stick around!

this species is still in progress, so bear with me as i set things up!

-> rules & guidelines
    1. treat everyone with respect.
    2. bumbleberries are a closed species, which means you may not make one without permission.
    3. no stealing is permitted - whether it is someone's adopt, this species, a design, etc.
    4. please don't complain if you don't win a contest, it's never personal!
    5. if you no longer want your bumbleberry, please contact me, and i can have it readopted out.
    you may trade/gift them as normal characters (updated 01-21)
    6. posting your bumbleberry off-site is totally fine, just remember to link to the creator.
if you have any questions, feel free to post or pm me, and i'll try to get it cleared up!

more species info:
--- bumbleberries are about the size of a squirrel, but may be a bit larger or smaller. they have a small pouch on their belly, but it's usually hidden by fur, and their antennae are like pom-poms on wires. their wings are quite strong, and are able to carry the bumbleberry through the air. bumbleberries will travel from plant to plant, sticking their noses in the flowers and scattering pollen all over their noses. this is how they pollinate plants. unlike bees, bumbleberries do not pollinate plants while collecting food - they pollinate plants as their job, and actually primarily eat berries instead of nectar and pollen. bumbleberries do not have a defense system against predators, as their teeth are used for eating and they do not have claws. instead, they use their antennae to sense vibrations, which can give them a head start before the predator arrives. these creatures are warm-blooded, but they do enjoy warmth. bumbleberries reproduce when they find their life partner. the two bumbleberries will touch their antennae together, and shortly after, the parents will both drop one antenna pom-pom each [they will grow back later on]. these will be protected by the parents until the babies emerge from the center of the pom-pom. from then, the young bumbleberries - often referred to as bumblings - will crawl into their parents' pouches until they are mature enough to survive on their own. due to their unique reproductive system, any two bumbleberries can create offspring together.
