<3 I'm kinda surprised to run into someone else who loves the book. It's been a favorite of mine for a long time, I think I've read it all the way through at least 3 times? I've been wanting to make an adopt based on it for a while lol.

YEAH house of leaves has been a major source of writing inspiration ever since i read it in my freshman year of hs so its been a REALLY long time but my love for it is so strong, every time i reread it i rediscover why i love it so much and get sucked back into the storytelling ... i love the medium danielewski chose for it too (extended essay) and its so wild that a book largely written in the form of pseudo-nonfiction made me CRY gosh.... ALSO YOU'RE WELCOME

i plan to take an advanced world literature course soon with an amazing professor i had before and on the required reading list is both house of leaves and labyrinths by jorge luis borges which is like, probably the progenitor of house of leaves and its biggest influence

if u like HoL i think you should give borges a try if you havent already bc his exploration of concepts n ideas are so heavily featured in HoL especially the short piece he wrote about someone uncovering a book about a world that doesnt exist *_*
