2 wing sets, 7 tails, and itty bitty little arms of doom.
i can normally only devise plausible names in english spontaneously while under a full moon and sitting on the toilet. none of these conditions are met right now, so assuming that you're not interested in vaguely-nordic/germanic sounding gibberish, all i got for species title ideas at the moment is "great horned lynx", after the owls.
it's past midnight so i'm just gonna dump this concept here and worry about the spelling later;
vague idea that their diet revolves around snakes and fish but especially very young dragon and sea serpent hatchlings and that they're one of the bigger reasons why so few dragons and serpents grow large enough to be a real problem. this sort of diet would probably give them some sort of resistance to venom but possibly not magic since idunno if dragons young enough for them to hunt would be able to use breath weapons anyway.
